No, it they will keep working fine. You just won't get the newest models or updates/fixes to old models.

The tools may state that they cover a car but when using the bidirectional control to actuate something like a purge valve which commonly goes out, they cannot do it. I tried a 2007 Audi A4 2.0t cabriolet to cycle the purge valve and it was not available on the xtool. These tools need to listen to their customers and provide what is needed. Not sure if the CR Max will work actuate the purge valve.

with VAG cars, I think that VCDS cable+software would be the best tool to use (Audi, Skoda, VW, Seat)

Seems the touch screen on the CR Max is not so responsive. Notice you hit the screen twice on the CR to select.

Hi do the Xtool D7 only read and correct mileage in cluster? Or it can read mileage in Engine control module, Body control module/Powertrain control module? I only need to verify mileage in cars before buying them, I dont need to change the odometer mileage. Thanks.

Yes, the BT unit also lets you connect with USB instead of Bluetooth, it's slightly faster

Almost all other brands, if not all, offer key programming functions at similar purchase prices, so I don't understand why icarsoft doesn't have this. In my opinion, the lifetime update itself does not compensate for this and in many cases disqualifies it

just because it shows all those special functions does not mean it can do them all. It might only 1 depending on the car

CR MAX doesn't support Chevrolet, very little customer support by e-mail, no customer support by phone at all.

The Xtool is useless on cars older then 2012, I have a 2007 fiat sedici and it cannot find my vin and when I enter the vin it still cannot find any info on my car, I tried it on my friends car he has a 2009 fiat punto and we had the same problem, we couldn't even regen the DPF so I sent it back, useless tool
