@dianeshelton9592 I think you'll find that both the combined military or spending of Europe is only a fraction of the USA. In fact, the total combined military budget of all Europe is just 32% of the USA. $295 billion vs. $916. So each country in Europe would have to triple its defence spending to match USA. When it comes to military capability, thete is no comparison. Europe is a minnow.

@dianeshelton959216 күн бұрын
@ you are assuming that Europe will be passive in this situation and more money means more and better equipment. Don’t forget the last time America tried to invade any country in Europe , the generals were so behind the other allies and suffered from “ not American” phobia so much that they put themselves and their soldiers in a lot of peril and caused a lot of American deaths. For example they were given the easiest beach in Normandy so their soldiers who were less used to active combat could follow on behind the British and Canadian soldiers cleaning up the last few Germans , but they made such a mess of it, launching the landing craft 5 miles out in choppy water instead of 2 miles out in the shallower not so deep water only 3 of the landing craft reached the 27 reached the beach. Leading directly to the battle of the bulge as so many Americans had been killed on the bloody beach. Also never forget Europe is not trusting the USA with full intelligence now , it did in the last war and Britain told the USA that the Japanese were going to attack Pearl Harbour on that Sunday. And gave them radar which they said needed to be turned on for 24 hours of the day. But oh no it wasn’t American intelligence so it wasn’t real and radar was new and not invented by America so they didn’t see the need to turn it on at all in some cases not to mention in others they turned it on 9 to 5 during week days. America has never won one single war without calling in its allies . Not alone never. From the Canadians burning down the White House in 1812 to the NATO and other Middle Eastern allies helping in operation dessert storm to the latest Afghani war where a load of NATO countries helped the USA. Given that war was lost with the taliban regaining power in Afghanistan in possession of all the military equipment that America was forced to leave behind. The other NATO allies managed to get their equipment out of there once they realised Trump had negotiation a “ peace “ deal with the Taliban that gave them everything that they wanted. No the American military is simply not the best no matter how how much money the American public spend on it. It is outdated in a lot of its tactics. Doesn’t have access to simple Australian drone technology which has done more to help the Ukrainians , doesn’t have the best Jets that Sweden builds, doesn’t have the rocket capacity that Britain has and above all , doesn’t have access to many allies In fact the main problem of the American army is Americans general poor education. Other NATO allies demand a very high standard of education to be in their military, not the US grunt military who are less educated than the Russian soldiers whose only tactic is to go in as meat grinder in Ukraine.

The dissatisfaction in the Canadian Parliament didn't stem from Trudeau's response to CFdjt's threat of tariffs against us. It had started against him beforehand & people outside the country only took note of it after you noticed we were still here, prompted by the president-in-waiting's mentioning us by name in his threats.

Trump is the only president to leave office with a smaller fortune than he entered it. Perhaps you could explain how the Clintons and Obamas became multi millionaires. Perhaps the Clinton foundation might give you a clue; millions of dollars raised,high wages and expenses. How much of that money did the Haitians actually receive?

Great point that Scaramucci made on trade in the post-war era: Just like the Marshall plan, encouraging free trade was entirely in the self-interest of the US to do so (the US economy could supply many of the goods Europe needed for reconstruction, and that recovery in turn boosted demand for US goods). There was nothing "generous" about it - Robert Lighthizer is completely wrong-headed on that issue. Raising tariffs across the board is the same as shooting yourself in the foot.

Hey kann Ich dich da mal was fragen?
@petracastro602115 күн бұрын
@petracastro602115 күн бұрын
@d.f.914014 күн бұрын

I always enjoy your interviews with this man. He talks so much sense and with such a lot of knowledge. I just wish he wasn't talking about such horrible prospects. After 16 years of Tory mismanagement and deterioration I would have zero expectation that London or anywhere else in the UK would have any missile protection at all. Our only chance is our airforce and they can't do a lot against a missile attack. I would expect us to be woefully underprepared for any sort of attack of war. We have far too big an opinion of ourselves to have actually prepared! But for now, it's Christmas and I'm going to go off and have some fun. So thank you for your hard work this year Jonathan and may you also take a bit of time off to enjoy the season with family and friends. Happy Christmas.
