Is it possible to damage the saw with no chain on? I figured the engine can increase in heat and the bearing could come off due to no tension?

you cant its not against the law where you from ?? as long as the blade is off sometimes people take the bar off cause of people trying to press charges just dont touch no one with the saw you can rev it and crap but dont go in there face your good bro im doing it

I would ask people in your family or any friends you have to see if any of them have a chainsaw. If they do, you could ask them to use it for a night. That’s what I’m most likely doing

As a kid this always scared me. I never trusted thay there was no blade. How is there never been a serial killer just go to haunted forests with a mask.

I've never held a real chainsaw, but the sight and sound always gets me. I imagine revving a chainless one would feel and sound great, but what about seeing the thing move? Can't you attach a bladeless chain? I understand the danger of moving parts, but just something to rev in your backyard--you're not gonna get out with it. Ugh. This is why I'll never own a chainsaw. Can't be trusted with it.
