adam, there's a program to re-introduce wolves and lynx into the UK, from what I hear. Back in the days of sail, apparently there were wolves and lynx all over. So watch out for them in your national parks over there lol 🙂 Says British Museum of Natural History [begin quote] There has been increasing interest in returning once-native carnivores to the UK as part of growing rewilding schemes. While the reintroduction of wolves is highly unlikely any time soon, the return of lynx is seen by some as much more achievable. We have a pack of coyotes that live in our city/neighborhood basically in Atlanta (not rural). They do eat outdoor pets, but we've not had any issues with trash. Thing is, you can't move the pack to another location because they'll come back, or the "vacuum" left behind will draw in another pack (they're very territorial). So it's kill them and maybe get another pack; move them and get another pack, or leave them alone as they're mostly scared of humans.

Zebra mussels grow everywhere. Here in northern Illinois they can and clog up drains, damage pipeworks, and generally compete for nutritious microorganisms with other aquatic life.

I live in Minnesota & almost every year a "people-friendly" juvenile alligator is caught in the Mississippi River about an hour from my home. They're easy to spot & catch because some idiot up here thought it'd be cool to have an alligator, believed the lie that they won't outgrow their tank & inevitably when they do in fact outgrow their tank/enclosure the idiots release them in the river. 🤦🏼‍♀️ They are spotted because they literally follow boats or crash picnics on the sandbars looking for humans to feed them because that's all they've ever known. They definitely won't survive a Minnesota winter out in the wild - way too cold.

To answer you question of how species exist on multiple Continents, it's called the Continental Drift. The land was once one big land mass and over millions of years, earthquakes and tectonic plate separation it has drifted apart into the Continents we see today. If you look at a map you can still basically fit them all back together like a puzzle with slight differences from islands breaking off on their own, erosion and new land being formed by volcanic eruptions. I'm sure you can find a video out there on the subject to explain it better if you wish.

Anything can be invasive. It isn't about violence but out competing native creatures. If rabbits eat all the grass and plants native herbivores suffer. And if native herbivores suffer native predators can suffer if they can't prey upon the invasive species. Coyotes aren't really aggressive towards people. But if they are starving or sick they absolutely can be aggressive. And as the video said they will attack pets, children, cause damage, etc.

The mussels attach themselves to ships just like barnacles. when the St. Lawrence Seaway opened the Great Lakes shared by the US and Canada, the foreign ships began going to ports around the lakes and the Zebra mussels began attaching themselves to anything the could. The cause many problems like plugging the storm sewer outlets and other things around places power stations.

Coyotes are mostly afraid of humans, but they will attack if you are small enough, or they feel cornered. They look cute but they will attack you. I saw one walking through a park in Van Nuys, California. It crossed my path, stopped and looked at me, bared its teeth and growled, and then moved on.

Here in Arkansas we have the alligator gar. They get huge, and they look prehisoric and scary. In late summer they come up to the top of the water and roll. A big one once came up and rolled right next to my canoe on the Ouachita River.

A friend of mine was living near New Orleans in a home on a golf course. She was sitting on her patio reading with her dog at her feet when a coyote ran by, snatched up her little dog and took off! She said all she heard was one little yelp and they were gone! I live in the country and often hear packs of coyotes out hunting at night. They have even tried to get my cats. I know this because the cats ran up into the wheel wells of my car and the coyotes ate the paint off my car trying to get them!

Personally the craziest thing about crocs and alligators to me is that their bite force is incredibly strong, significantly stronger than any other animal on the planet. But they have almost no power behind opening their mouth, only closing it. So anything in their mouth gets destroyed instantly, you could also hold their mouths closed with one hand and minimal effort

Yeah North America, Europe, and Asia (or just Eurasia) has a lot of similar species due to the Bering Land Bridge that has occasionally opened up a few times in the past. I have a bit of different recommendation as I want to recommend "Every Species of Alligator, Crocodile, Caiman and Gharial! (If You're Into That Kind of Thing)" from Clint's Reptiles who has a lot of neat videos about how a ton of animals are related to one another.

Coyotes are usually VERY timid. They will almost always run away unless something is wrong. There is a vid on youtube of some dude walking his chihuahua and a coyotes attempts to attack and the dog owner had to pick the coyote up by the tail and put it in a dumpster and hold the lid down until animal control arrived.

The biggest thing you should look out for with coyotes is rabies. Also, if one is acting injured and trying to lure you in to follow it, it’s a trap. He’s taking you to his homies that will surround you and make you their lunch.

Coyotes can carry rabies & that can be a big issue if your dog or cat runs into one. Super important to get rabies vaccines for your dogs ( actually the law in NC ) & your outside cats. We just had someone get bit by a rabid cat in our area. Also, rabies is serious business for humans, don't wait to see a doctor if you come in contact with a rabid animal

If you think American alligators are scary, check out Cuban crocodiles. American alligators can lunge quickly, but overall they're kind of slow on land. Cuban crocs can gallop like a horse, and chase their prey down.

Coyotes can be quite dangerous. In subdivisions they have been known to attack and eat small dogs and cats such as chihuahuas. They have been know to attack children and even adults. Not that good to have around in cities.

There are 2 bass that's related to its mouth. The small-mouthed, and big-mouthed bass. -------------------------------------- It's so ingrained to the US outdoor sports scene that there's a fishing tournament for bass fishing called "Bassmaster Tournament". They only fish for small mouth, and large mouth bass. ---------------------------------------- Also, there's an outdoor sports store called Bass Pro Shops (BPS). It's a store for fishing equipment, hunting equipment, guns, and outdoor apparel. Pretty much everything that has to do with outdoor sports, they got it. There are some people who did videos of BPS locations. Even with the BPS "pyramid" in Memphis, Tennessee.

Hey Adam...as a soldier, I spent three tours in Germany and the thing I missed most is large mouth bass fishing. Y'all have trout and that was fun, but I am glad to see some countries introducing bass to their waters. While they are no danger to man, they are ferocious predators, so they might wreak havoc on domestic species of fish. So there's that. I've been a bass fisherman for 50 years and there just isn't anything as fun as hooking into a five pound bass. I'll take you out to try it if you ever make it to Texas. I'd love to host you.
