Edward being a kind engine as a spirit animal talking to ghosts such as Stella for example makes logic sense. I mean, where does Edward even go this time of an hour on Sodor? 15:15 But that last line what Edward said to Stella. “Not every engine is ready to understand how complicated life or death is.”

Yeah, I think she did. From what I could tell, the next day, Arry and Bert returned, and then later that night, one of them finally took Stella's tender, and pushed it over the edge, and into the furnace, melting it down. With her tender finally being scrapped, Stella got it back, and finally moved on from the Mortal Plane with it behind her once again, as witnessed by Arry and Bert
