Honestly, those firefighters sacrificed themselves so they could save as many people as they could. They put their own lives on the line, running into the towers, with no regard for their own life, and only good will in their hearts. RIP to those killed in the attacks

Look into the conspiracy theories, some of them are pretty convincing, it makes it look way worse. Or try watching the footing of the attacks and see the people jumping from the building, to get away from the inevitable fiery death that was coming for them.

I was with my great grandfather. He was a war veteran and he knew what it was when he saw the 2nd plane. He sat me on his lap and what he said may help some others reading my comment. He said ," There is true evil in this world. The important thing is how you respond to it. You can fight with violence , which leads only to more hate and a new form of evil. Or you can push through this life and fight it by spreading love. Love is the true way to battle evil. "

GiladPellaeon Same, I was 11. Was in a shop, buying some pencils after school, and heard something on the radio about the towers and didn't think anything of it. Then I got home and my brother was just standing, fixed to the news. Remember the horror of seeing the second plane hit and knowing it wasn't an accident.

I also remember it quite well. But my reaction was vastly different to others. I was 8 years old, came back from school and I was prepared to watch cartoons, dragon balls etc. But instead of cartoons, all I saw was that something happend somewhere, all the channels were showing the same thing. So I got really upset and turned off TV, because bothing interesting was showing. When I was that little I didn't really understood what was going on to add to that, I'm nowhere near America. I now really regret not watching it, back when it was live.

My family and I lost a close friend that day. We visit his memorial here at my dad's office in Australia. I don't normally tell this story but. On September 11, 2001. Andrew was at work (in the twin towers). His wife called him, wanting to make dinner plans I'm pretty sure. They were on the phone. His wife was able to see the towers clearly from the building she was in. Suddenly everything changed for the worst. She saw everything. She heard everything. The plane had struck the tower and it was up in flames. She could still hear Andrew. But then the line cut. She lost the connection. I don't know what their last words were to each other. But what happened is something I never want to happen again. My dad cries every Sep. 11. It's hard. My dad told me the story of what happened as soon as I was old enough to partly understand. ,She didn't deserve to lose him and he didn't deserve to die like that! No one did. I hate this world sometimes. Andrew

Casey is an artist, he knows what plays on our emotions. perfect example: The opening scene is of his wife's dog playing with a little toy dog, thats it, no music or anything over the top. so simple, yet the video is about the worst day in the 21st century for America. the contrast of having something so innocent and happy be followed by a story of horror leaving the audience with nothing to say is brilliant contrast. He has a fantastic talent, even when telling a story we have heard before, he finds new ways to tell it.

My teacher said she was only 10 years old when it happened. She lived in New York, she was in school when her teacher was told to go the hall. When her teacher came back she was crying and sweating, she balled up onto the ground and another teacher across the hall tried to comfort her. Her teacher said that her husband called, the scary part was her husband was a fire fighter and the last thing he said before hanging up was “I love you”. It’s so sad what happened that day. My heart goes out to people who lost loved ones.

@@firefighter_731 That sounds more like smoking or barbecuing than grilling! Grilling is to cook over a hot open fire so if you did that for hours you’d have lumps of char remaining. I don’t know if you’d understand this or not, but sometimes in America we get specific about the way we cook our meats!

I was scared and our school was immediately evacuated, I just remember feeling better when my parents picked me up from school. The day was grim and I just couldn't grasp at the time, of the true terror that was in the air.

Great video, thank you so much for sharing. On Sept. 11th I was living in South Georgia, I was a pharmaceutical rep and I was 38 weeks pregnant. My partner and I were taking lunch to a cardiology group that day and we sat at the lunch with the doctors and nurses, just glued to the television, with our jaws gaped wide open and tears running down our faces, even the doctors. We did not personally know anyone that was in NYC, but we were just devastated and so incredibly sad for the people involved and their families. At about 1 that afternoon, the pharmaceutical company I was working for sent out a message nationwide for every rep to go home, they had a lot of reps in NYC and traveling and they needed to start doing a headcount to make sure everyone was home safe. I went and picked up my children early from school, I needed them right beside me that afternoon. My precious daughter was born 15 days later. I cannot imagine what it must have been like to actually have been right there when it was happening, I know you must have been terrified. You are very brave to share your story. Thank you!!

I was a survivor of the 9-11 attack and from all these comments, I just want to say that a lot of these people are lying about a family member or friend dying or almost being involved in the tragic accident. I’m sorry if I sound mad, but joking about this kind of incident is a terrible thing to do. If you weren’t involved in the incident, good for you; I’m happy that you were safe, but some of us have actually gone through the grief and trauma of the accident. Don’t comment if you’re going to say false claims, thank you. RIP to all the fallen men and women.

Casey, this was a great video, thank you for sharing your experience. We're about the same age (both 39). I was a military policeman who responded to the Pentagon on 9/11 and think that I sort of understand the feelings you had that day. My heart poured out to New Yorkers during that time. I was so busy during that time and sleeping so little, that it was several weeks before I could process what had occurred; when I finally did, it was not fun. What terrible times, but as you said, I also place great value on what I witnessed. Its part of who I am and made me value lives and other people much more. I enjoy your videos and your commentary. We come from completely different backgrounds and have very different viewpoints, but I greatly respect your tone and sincerety for people. Keep up the good work, my friend. Take care!

I was in 2nd grade when this happened. I remember the principal and everyone from the office going classroom to classroom talking to the teachers and having them explain to us what had happened. One of my friends left early from class bc her uncle had been in one of the towers. She didn’t come back until about a month later. It’s been years later and every year on this day I remember her and just how chilling it was going back home and seeing it on the news with my parents. This year, my cousin who is 14 and started high school said they had this in one of her history worksheets and asked me if I remember that day since she wasn’t born until 2004 I believe. It’s weird but interesting to see how kids now are learning about this in books or through word of mouth while I having been alive at the time saw the impact it had on a fellow friend.

I remember that I had stayed home from school that day and my grandma was making me some eggs and bacon, while I was watching TV, it randomly switched to the news showing the towers and I saw that the north tower was on fire and yelled “Look grandma, building is on fire” and right when she came over to see, the second plane hit the south tower.

I remember the day so vividly. I was in my first grade class, and the phone rang. Our teacher quieted us down and answered it. I saw her smile fall. She covered her hand with her mouth and gasped "what?", then hung up quickly. The fire alarm came on but was only on for a split second before turning to a lockdown drill. The classroom was dark and we were all huddled behind this cubby area. Then the room filled with blue &a red lights. Suddenly there was a pounding on the door. My mom had stormed into the school and demanded me and my brother. She heard right when the first tower was hit on the radio and rushed to our school. Our school was circled by police vans and cars, with guns out. We weren't far from Washington, DC. I remember hanging off my mom, looking at all these grim faced police officers as she took us home. She had gotten there before the cops had or else she wouldn't have gotten in as they weren't letting anyone into the school parking lot.

I actually first heard about the 11 september when i was in vacation in the usa in 2010 when i was 10 years old. On the anniversary it was shown in american tv and as a german i never heard of it or saw such terrifying things before. All the people in the windows jumping down. It was horrible and awfull but my parents allowed me to watch it. I didnt sleep at all for the whole night and till today I sometimes get bad dreams. I can not imagine how bad it has to be for everyone who actually was involved/in town in 2001.

Imagine the people who go through this daily. For example Syria and Lebanon. Imaginge reliving that terror ever single day. I recently watched a video of a bunch of men digging for a baby's body under a collapsed house in Syria. I felt terrified just from watching it. I live in Egypt and experienced a bomb 3 blocks away. I was sleeping and fell from my bed from the intensity. I really thought the world was ending. I can't imagine living through that again.

One of my close relatives was killed in 9/11. His name was engraved into the memorial ( bless anyone who's relatives died during this time 💛) Edit: I made this comment 2 years ago and haven’t touched it since so I apologize responding this late, but in don’t really feel comfortable sharing his name. To clarify: by “close relative” I mean we were closely related, not close as in we talked a lot etc. My dad took me to see the memorial when I was a kid so I remember him saying that we were closely related and that he was a firefighter. I never met him, please leave it alone.

I’m a 20 year old, I was 11 months old when 9/11 happened. Even though I dont directly remember it happening ,kids my age were taught how extremely horrible and important that event was and the effect this event had on the world. Even though I can’t remember where I was when it happened , I can remember growing up and how patriotic things were . My biggest hope is that with the coming generations of kids that the education and the retelling of the importance of this event won’t be slowly swept under the rug with time.Currently watching this on the 20th anniversary of 9/11.

All the world was shocked about what happened in 11th 2001, but after have seen this video,I now know that what was communicated it wasn't strong enough to make people realize what it really was that day for the people of Manhattan. When Casey was talking at 6:25,when he made that cut, at first, because of my not perfectly trained listening skill of the english,I didn't realize what he said at first... so I replayed those last minutes, and when I realized what words he cut out,my heart skipped a beat. I was 34 and in the DC area on 9/11, flew into Reagan National the night before. I was 10 years into my career and giving a big presentation that morning at 8:30 to all the VP’s in the company. When the first plane hit the north tower, my wife called my blackberry. I answered and got angry stares from the room. When the second plane hit she called again, and I knew something awful had happened. We jumped in cars and saw the pentagon burning on our way to hide in a friend’s basement. We couldn’t go home for over a week, but when we did I got frisked down by ATF, Maryland national guard, state troopers and FBI. We rode around on empty airplanes for almost two years.

I have 9/11 as one of the most vivid memories of my early childhood. I was about 4 years old and really couldn't classify what happened, but I could tell from what I saw and how my parents were reacting to it that there had happened something really bad and something that would change the world forever. I am from Germany and it was in the afternoon and our TV was on the whole day. I think that's what made it so absolutely terrifying for me since the TV was never on before like 8 pm. Not once in my entire childhood except this one day...
