No other of the great pianists of whom Yuja is one have such a wide repertoire. She plays everything for Scarlatti to Art Tatum

Wang spielt es präzise und tadellos. Das Mädchen mit fliegenden Finger. Keine Frage.

This is an absolutely beautiful realization of this great work....my favorite Scarlatti piece of all time, played with great mastery and poetry! I have not played this in many years and this inspires me to play it again....so gorgeous! Thanks for recording and posting this grand work! Sorry that the way she blended the performance art did not work though. I am sure that was a big disappointment. Take care, ~Jackie

Very funny. The ads come 1 second before the resolution of k 466. Almost done deliberately.

Thanks for this-her Scarlatti is wonderful. I saw the same concert as you and was much moved by her Mozart. However-I must take some issue with your depiction of the encore. Perhaps it would be better without one after such a fine concerto-leave us basking in its charm. She is expected these days to play encores tho', so I suppose it is a necessity. Yet to depict it as "tasteless and vulgar" seems to me a bit 'high pitched'. Volodos own transcription she has edited wisely in the past-some of it's superficial showiness that was musically weak-but I rather like the jazz and ragtime within it now,and I feel audience's do as well. You obviously do not, and I can honor that. But I think your a bit hard on the poor girl and that piece...;-)

I have on occasions been critical of Yuga Wang's glitzy overtly sexy onstage garments, however as I listen to these beautifully proportioned accounts of two Scarlatti sonatas my criticism easily becomes secondary. Ultimately I prefer to hear this brilliant young pianist away from the visual distractions.

You're doing it right: seeing Ms. Wang in her vulgar outfits is a shock (.kzbin.info/www/bejne/eqCygK2uisaigNk). It may be that she is brilliant, a serious, cultured person she is not, I think she is an exhibitionist who acts out on stage.
@timothybolshaw2 жыл бұрын
@@beckerhanshermann8372 Yuja is not a deliberate exhibitionist. Indeed, her playing (with the exception of some of her encores) are a model of good taste, as here. Her fashion choices reflect how she is. She loves clothes, and dressing to be glamorous as she discerns it. By all means, decide she has poor fashion sense (though I disagree) but appreciate her as an artist.

It seems to me that there’s something wrong with this piano’s tuning. Is it just too low?? I don’t have absolute hearing, as far as I know :) Anyone with better insight/hearing could comment/explain? It does seem to get better the longer I listen (now at 4 minutes into the video). Maybe it was caused by the video I saw/heard just before…

Beautiful interpretation with good taste like all her interpretations. Her K87 also is played like perhaps never before. Listen to other pianists and you will hear mannerisms and bad taste.....unfortunately......

Other pianists may play Scarlatti with mannerisms and bad taste. Ms. Wang offends listeners with her bad fashion taste. In this aspect, she is without competition.
