sounds more like Rashida Jones to me. SJ voice has a smokers raspiness to it. Sky is smooth.

Twins sound alike, does one own the voice of the other? No. If OpenAI shows that the Sky voice belongs to another human being, no further disputes. "Likeliness" when naturally derived (as opposed to intentionally created) is not a basis for infringement.

They wanted her to do the voice and when she said No they got someone who sounds similar and then cloned the actual actress voice anyway to steal it. They also implied its her by mentioning the movie where she does the same kind of role - basically trying to use her to advertise their product without paying her or getting her permission.

Sam should still not have named her Sky. Way too evocative of Scarlett. Maybe he thought he was being cute, but he really stepped in it this time.

@@starventure it was all done on purpose to pretend that it was Scarlett and basically using her role in that movie and her likeness to advertise their own product for free. Its pretty clear they did it on purpose because they even tried to hire her but she told them no.

@@Zero11_ss Actually the voice came out in September, the same month they contacted her according to the docs. Casting, prep, screening, recording... the timeline doesn't allow for the idea that they cloned it after to be petty or something. What they added in the demo, is the ai can now control the mannerisms & vocal fry; it's still sampled from the other voice actor.

There have always been human voice impersonators that have not been sued, but AI takes it to another level. All the company has to do is show the person who they hired that sounds like her to clear themselves- if that person exists.
