I kept expecting brood lords, but in hindsight I think she was ready to wreck colossus if he ever made them with minimal supply for air units. In the long game, the cost of the upgrades was probably less impactful than the supply a corrupter group would've taken up. If nothing else, the toss knowing about the spire with upgrades was a deterrent for expensive colossus.

@@DonCDXX I'm convinced she was waiting for a carrier switch. A roach/ling army does nothing against carriers. Even 4-6 Void Rays would have been a huge issue. So if her opponent did that she could just answer with corrupters and crush.

⁠​⁠@@cavemantero Zerg armies are so much weaker (universally trade so much less efficiently) that sustained macro advantage through queen injects are ESSENTIAL to EVERY Zerg build. Banelings on the other hand are basically just mines without the range, invisibility or ability to be used more than once. But yes, if despite your massive tech and unit efficiency advantages; on top of your races’ own broken macro mechanic (ie. nexus overcharge, recall, planetaries, orbitals), you still don’t manage to get better than even trades, and ofc also fail to exert any meaningful drone harassment, at that point, than yes, Zerg would and should wipe the floor with whatever units you’ve been ‘strategically idling’ in ur natural anyway for the past 10-20 minutes.

The myth that building zerglings has a great impact on APM is mathematically not true: even if scarlet would have build in the 20 minutes of the first game 4000 lings, it would only have "inflated" the APM by max. 100 (1 APM for 2 lings). So no. It's just that zerg needs more APM to handle. (2000apm for 4000 lings divided by 20 minutes is 100 additional APM). Also would be less cause of course if she would build units 4x more expensive, she would still have increased the APM by 25 and not building any units is not possible.. So even then 75al additional APM.
