Audient Evo seems like the winner for my use, looking to mainly record voice work. I think it sounds quite a bit better there. Thank you for the good comparison I use PC. I think Mac is good for creators that can afford it but you can get a fairly powerful PC for not that much money compared to an entry level mac.

@gootyobt20323 жыл бұрын
On the dual mic test you should switch mics between interfaces to see if that may be what sound difference that makes... I know the point is that they are bundles but I may go for one or the other standalone if the mic is making unwanted changes.

I did consider recording the vocal section through my Apollo interface but decided the best representation of each bundle was to go through each interface. The video is too long as it is without doing further comparisons :-)

Hello, I am a very beginner in the area of recording and music production, looking for upgrading my setup. My requirements are to record one mic(Sennheiser e485s) and a stereo workstation(Yamaha MOXF6). I am a bit confused with two extreme interfaces and as a beginner, I am not sure which one will help me out. I was looking for Focusrite 2i2 and Behringer umc22. I am also tight on a budget if it's a really worth and noticeable difference for a small project or for learning I am willing to stretch my pocket. I would love to hear your suggestion.

Hi Sam, If you want to record all three channels at the same time, you'll need a four-channel interface. Both of the brands you've mentioned do larger models. Here's a comparison between the two input versions that will give you an idea of the sounds they capture and hopefully help you make your decision: kzbin.info/www/bejne/kJS7gKKOmbZskJo

Great video. I've already watched several of your audio interface reviews and they've all been very helpful (liked and now subscribed). You've helped narrow down my final purchase choice. Thank you. That said, one thing I haven't heard anyone mention if an audio interface can help remove latency when you're recording purely in the DAW. For example, if I use my MIDI controller to trigger a piano virtual instrument and record it on track 1, and then play that back so I can record, for example, a bass line with the same controller on another track. Using the computer's audio jack I experience a little latency between pressing the keys and hearing the sound. I've tried the ASIO4ALL driver and it was insanely buggy. I'm thinking that an audio interface can help resolve my latency problem. Is my assumption correct?
@EdThorne3 жыл бұрын
Thank you, glad they’ve been helpful. Which interface did you decide on? By MIDI controller do you mean a keyboard? In your DAW, make sure you have low-latency mode set (although this will disable most plugins). I use a Keystation 49 with Logic and a few different piano sample packs and don’t get latency in LL mode.
@TechTraction3 жыл бұрын
@@EdThorne decided to go with the Audient iD14 MKII although I haven't ordered it yet. Looks like a solid performer without breaking the bank. As for the controller question, yes, I meant a keyboard MIDI controller. I'll dig into the DAW options as you suggested. Thanks.

Not a tech guy. $ and I do not really know anything. I know these parts of the voice recording schematic ( now) but what are the pros doing with I think preamps before the audio interface? Is there yet another part to this pro stuff? I hear cloud and phantom power ( to confusing for now) but what about pre amps?
@EdThorne2 жыл бұрын
All interfaces have preamps built in so you don’t need anything in addition to this set up to start recording. Some people choose certain outboard preamps for their sonic characteristics but these are usually very expensive and very specialist.
@RUSSIAN_SPY_INC2 жыл бұрын
