As a dad, I'm torn from protecting you from all harm.
But the lessons involved when you compete, the challenges it brings, the pain it incurs, are all part of the process of improving and making yourself better.
I would always tell you, it's not about how many times you get hit and pushed down, but how many times you get up, and keep pressing forward.
