Scarlett vs Bomber was my absolute #1 favorite SC2 matchup during the the mid-2010's, when they were both at their peak, and not just because I am a Canadian myself. Neither of them were world champion contenders, but they were both so good, and so good to watch, that it was always the highlight of any tournament they were in together. I genuinely don't think, in the history of SC2, there was ever 2 more equally matched opponents, much less 2 who saw each other so frequently. Every game was such a nail bitter.

What set bomber apart was his rock solid unshakable play style. He would effortlessly swat away any kind of shenanigans his opponent threw at him. He would macro perfectly, by his day's standards. Then start the unstoppable force of wave after wave until he ground down his opponent. He would also make crazy trades or ballsy all-ins without any hesitation. You could really tell this player had a strong playstyle but also a strong character that was near impossible to break. He fell off after getting drafted into the military for 2 years. But the matches he played in his prime are still the best I have ever seen.

Legends of the game for sure, that g3 at Red Bull Battlegrounds was one of the most intense games in sc2 history. Bomber is the player I think of when I remember the era of 3-base Terran parade pushes dominating TvZ, absolutely relentless. Scarlett is the player I think of when I remember the days before Serral where foreigners who could punch above their weight were few and far between, and she was always one of the greatest foreign hopes.

@Kacey Dillin He was great for his time, but he's not the best Zerg ever. Dark, Rogue, Reynor, and Serral are all world champions (I believe Rogue and Serral twice now) have all become demonstrably better. But there is a caveat to what I'm saying here. That is that Life never got a chance to keep playing because of his scandal. He robbed himself of a potentially truly legendary career. It still is, but it truly could have been more, which is the saddest part.
@MrGeorgeFlorcus Жыл бұрын
@@KuroiRenge Speaking as a big fan of both Dark and Serral, I believe the career of Life, however short and controversial it may have been, cannot be overlooked. Life WAS a world champion, for his time, and a legit one too. And an owner of not one, but TWO Triple Crown awards, all by the ripe old age of 18. Life threw his career away, and imo it doesn't deserve to be mourned, simply because of the nature of what happened. Nevertheless, I have no doubt in my mind a player of his caliber could have easily grown into the greatest Zerg player, if not the greatest PLAYER, of all time, had he stayed legit. I mean, think about it, Maru started younger than him, and he is now the #2 player in the world. Byun was a world champion in 2016, now almost 30 years old, he stands a completely reasonable chance of doing it again. Imagine if a player like Life had followed a similar trajectory? Could have made players like Reynor look like a chump.
