I watched Dark Angel before Supernatural but looking back Dean is like Alec in so many ways. Maybe its how Jensen likes to play characters or he chooses these characters for a reason.

I can't remember what season it was but he did a season of smallvile and his character on there is a smart alec 2, but not as bad as alec or dean if i'm remembering right. it'd been awhile since I saw his season of smallville.

I heard half the reasons were internal. Alba and the guy who was supposed to be her main dude didn't like loosing screen and story time to an increasingly popular Jensen. It would be a great show to reboot with Jensen in the lead, oh say about a year and a summer from now. ;)

Fifteen years old, found this show after finally catching up with supernatural about four years ago, and it is legit in my top three favorite shows. The first time I watched it I was telling my mom about it and she had to stop, when I was little she had all the DVDs but got rid of them because she was never able to get around to watching them. Then here I am trying to track em down on the internet every couple of months to rewatch it. Luck huh. To make it funnier we had these before we started watching supernatural, and it's just strange to think we would have fallen in love with Alec first, and quite possibly found supernatural through dark angel, instead of vise versa.

I just started watching Dark Angel and I think I might like Alec a teeny bit more than Dean Winchester. And I find that hard to believe myself! But wow, there is a Han Solo rogue quality here and it freaking amazes me he was not a star immediately following this. And this videos captures some of those moments blended with music to perfection.

Ive never watched this show. But I’m going off this video and I can see similarities between Dean and Alec. Jensen plays these roles really well. I believe he has to be somewhat like that in order to play those roles the way he does. I know he’s an actor and those are characters. I think his real personality is somewhat like that. I do know the difference between a character and an actual person.

I consider the first four seasons of SPN the best show ever, like, this is as good as a TV show can get. But honestly, it is already way past its glory days. It's a shadow of its old self. I will be in love with the Winchesters forever, but honestly the show should've ended long ago. Dark Angel, on the other hand, was killed prematurely. There was so much more for it to explore. And with Alec as one of the protagonists, failure was not an option ;) too bad we had to give up on Alec to get Dean.
