i love the premium american beef from kura tho, it’s a very nice palette cleanser, HOWEVER, the temporary wagyu is soOOOOO much better it’s actually hot

idk I always felt like the beef nigiri at kura was just mean to be an option for someone who wasn't feeling raw fish. it's typically an inexpensive cut of beef sliced thinly and cooked well done, so the meat-to-rice ratio is off and it's very very dry. if I want to palette cleanse I eat the picked ginger (admittedly an acquired taste) or the watermelon-cucumber salad (they have this great dressing on it) a good beef nigiri is one of my favorite pieces to eat at a high-end omakase place; i've been to places that will slice some wagyu and sear it with a blowtorch on hardwood to give it a nice smokey flavor and then make a nigiri with a bit of flake salt, and it is, *chef's kiss*. or if you find a local butcher certified to sell raw wagyu you can make wagyu nigiri at home, and it's great :]

Y’all are brave. I wouldn’t allowed them to vote for anything that I wouldn’t eat. Some fish textures just fuck me up. Thankfully it’s only happened to me a few times were the texture is so bad for me that I’ve gagged 😂 thankfully I’ve never 🤮 but I’ve gotten close. I probably would lie to chat and be like “oh no!
