Your short has amazing attention to detail. I would love a breakdown of some scenes, mainly the landscape at 0:45 and the detailed interior at 1:30

I wonder how much render time this piece took and how much antialiasing and render settings did it took to output this level of detail. Im amazed about the niagara particles not getting bluriness into the render, I got so much troubles with depth of field with those particles

@@gastonsaillen If I remember correctly we rendered it using 1 spatial and 32 temporal samples for AA, resolution was 4K with 120 screen percentage.

@ and render time ? I think it should be around 12 hours

@@gastonsaillen it depends on the shot, but for most of them it took way less than 12 hours, it was all rendered using Lumen, so it didn't took that long. I think around 45 minutes for some of them, rendered on an RTX 4080. If you mean for the whole thing, adding all the render times of all the shots together then yes, it would be close to 12-15 hours.

​@@gastonsaillen Each shot has its own master level, but inside that master one there were some sub levels that were shared across all shots. I had like 3-4 different render configs that I used depending on the shot, some of them required more samples, others more or less resolution, others needed to use spatial instead of temporal samples etc.

We captured all the motion data with a smartphone camera, we didn't use suits :)

It's all Unreal yes, and we are using Lumen and Virtual Shadow Maps :)

@@locodooms haha all good, I'm happy to answer questions about the short. Our character is a custom metahuman, so we are using metahuman animator in an Iphone 14 for the facial mocap and then for the body mocap we are using Wonder Dynamics (also recording our movements with a smartphone).
