This video is a timeline of the events that occurred in the lives of The Birmingham Coalition of Sabi Sand. These 5 brothers are amongst the most popular characters of WildEarth's show SafariLive. They are also considered among the big 5 of the coalitions of Sabi Sand. Other coalitions in big 5 are The Mapogos, The Mahingilanes, The Selatis and The Matimbas.
The Birmingham Coalition is amongst the most fruitful coalitions as well. They have sired and raised countless youngsters over the past few years.

NSUKU was named 'Gold' because of his golden eyes and golden mane which eventually blackened. He was the leader and oldest of the Birminghams. Nsuku was closest to Nhenha and stuck with the Styx pride during the early years of the Birmingham reign. Hid injury before he died should have killed him in a month but he did not give up till the end. He fought Hyenas and even roared before his death. He lived to 9 years old. NHENHA was named 'Warrior' because he was always a front runner during the Birminghams campaign. This continued throughout his life with Nhenha often being the first to chase or take a fight. He was also the largest and most dominant with the most cubs. Nhenha was often a loner during their reign and stayed mostly to himself but had a good bond with all of his brother especially Nsuku. He is/was the last of the Birminghams living to around 13 years old. TINYO was named 'Tooth' because he had a cut around his canine which left it exposed. Tinyo was not the biggest or most dominant of the brothers but he was always ready and willing for anything. He often challenged the two biggest Bboys for dominance despite getting beat most of the time. Tinyo had a very close bond with Mfumo and was always his shadow however I would say he is the Bboy who had a close bond to all of his brothers. He was the most fiesty looking but was the most gentle with cubs. Tinyo suffered a lot with illness and injuries in his last year. He lived to around 11 years old and the 2nd last Birmingham. MFUMO was named 'Authority' because he was often seen dominating Tinyo over lionesses and was very feisty when it came to them. Mfumo ended up having the Blondest mane despite Nsuku being named for his Blonde mane. He was often seen battered and bruised due to his fights for lionesses, win or lose. Mfumo became a loner before he dissappeared Mirroring Nhenha's behavior. He would often go far distances by himself eventually dissappearing. Mfumo lived to only 8 years old. SCRAPPER was the youngest Birmingham. He was not the largest or the most dominant but he had the brash personality, always causing trouble. He unfortunately died early on in the Birmingham reign to a Buffalo horn to his lungs. He lived to 5 or 6 years old.

I hope Nhenha still lives, but I find the possibility being very little indeed. I am awaiting just the sad confirmation. I saw him with his two remaining brothers on a visit to Mala Mala in 2018 and have several photographs and videos at close range. I am glad, at least, knowing the cubs I have seen then have reached the adulthood.

Birmingham males struck gold with the Kambula pride. I feel like any males that get the Kambula pride are very fortunate. Those ladies are huge, strong, good mothers, amazing hunters, and come from amazing genes of many legendary males like Mapogo, Majings, and Birmingham males themselves. That was a great match for them.

Scrapper was no joke, he was so agressiv he would attack the pcm alone. Nkhuma dont have this aggression in him thats why he was not into Fighting the plain camp males and nhena got caught. But i dont blame him, his Life was diffrent, he has a depressed Life, Big Boy and Styxs death broke him. Mfumo and Nsuku were badass Lions too, Mfumo was a very big Lion and i think the real Leader of the Birminghams, sad he vanished, he looked so Royal, im still think Humans kill him. Nsuku was a very agressiv Lion, and Tinyo was a chill Lion always silent but when a Fight starts he was the First who Fought 😂 In my Opinion one of the Greatest Coalition of all Time 💪 Nhena learns a lot from his Brothers and Took his Brothers Son Nkhuma with him to teach him.

Bboys are most successful coalition in SS. They sired cubs in almost all the areas...left 9 sons, one (Styx male) is dead confirmed...rest are doing well along with at least 12 daughters in various prides now raising their own cubs...I loved these boys....rest well kings...you have done your job.

West Street Males are more successful. They had at least 14 sons that reached adulthood, 6 Rollercoasters, 6 Mapogos, and 2 Golf Course Males. And fathered the females of the Ximgunhwe Pride, Tsalala ( a Ximhungwe Breakaway pride ), Sparta/Eyrefield Pride and Charleston Pride, aos mated with the Styx Pride and possibly other prides as well. They ruled for at least 10 years, but potentially even more, as Londolozi implies they arrived at 1992 and the last one died in 2004, and WildEarth reports some said they were 16yo even years before 2004.

@@RealFocuzYT Majingilanes are not as successful as Birminghams, never mind the WSM. They have 9 daughters alive today I believe? 6 Kambulas, 2 Manghenis and 1 Styx. They also had an Othawa daughter that died. I'm unaware of any other adult daughters. They had a similar number of sons that reached adulthood I think, unfortunately they all died without passing on their genes.

To be honest.. these males are real legends bcz not only they where strong . They also raised lot of cubs . Which so called mongos , selatiees and majiglens couldn't .they only killed many lions

It's not all about male cubs remember. Mopgo's raised very little males but raised a ton of lioness (Tsala, Othawa, Mhageni) and the Selati's didnt have a long enough reign to raise theirs. Majings raised a ton of cubs male and female. Majings raised so many female cubs from from Mhageni pride (daughters of Mapogos) that the lionesses even had to break off the pride and those ladies formed the strong Kambula pride we see today. Thats why I love the Kambula pride because theyre grandfathers are Mapogo's and fathers are Majings. Those are some impressive genes and i feel like thats why theyre so big, strong, and aggressive! No one really knows what happened to a lot of the Majing male cubs though because most never stayed in Sabi Sands when they were kicked out as sub adults and went north unlike the Othawa male and his sister.

Animal life isnt about keeping score about who conquered the most or left the most cubs. Its about living and any of those coalitions managed to have a good life. Which is rare seeing how many young starting coalitions simply never make it out of nomadhood. Also. Social media also play a large role in this. A lot of those coalions have the luck of being around in the time where the internet allows the entire world to follow their lives and for many these groups were around when they gotten into this stuff. A lot of great coalitions and prides of the past never had this luxury.

The Sabi Sand pride and this pride got huge territory and conquered many prides. But just like the Roman empire, when they grow too big too fast, the fall is inevitable. Both prides have a huge territory to patrol and often only one or two would patrol a certain are. That is when they ran into bands of brothers who are young and are quickly outnumbered. They live by the sword, they die by the sword. It's just the way it is. That's their law.

It was an aggressive coalition and they made it known when they got to Sabi Sands...I was hoping to see Nhenha again (even though I was very angry against him for killing Auntie❣️🌹 and her sister❣️🌹and two of the little ones❣️🌹the Othawa, I knew them before the Bboys and I loved them a lot) but it must be obvious, he must have been gone for a long time, it's sad but he left fighting for the territory and the Lionesses , like a warrior. But from the day we saw him with Skorro jr and the two Othawa sub adults, we never saw him again, yet he must not have gone far with the injuries he had, but no one told him. to find, did they look for it well? I wonder, we know how it goes... the Nkuhuma male finds himself alone again, it makes me feel sorry for him, I hope he can partner with Skorro jr and why not one or two young males with them, to try to ensure a bright future... No no I can’t accept that Nhenha is gone, it hasn’t even been confirmed and I know those injuries he sustained but I just can’t accept he is dead without it actually being confirmed. I am not giving up hope, I cannot bare the thought of Nhenha who is my favourite lion, gone. We just lost Dark Mane a few months ago. Nature is just so cruel sometimes.

6 Kambula males split in 2 groups of 4 + 2, the Nkuhuma male, and Torchwood male (partnered with the young Birmingham male). Styx male died Aug 2021.

@@JXUS11 the Birmingham breakaway males are sired by the Old Avoca/Giraffe males, and the Ross males. Birmingham males natal pride is the Birmingham pride so they come from essentially the same pride. So Kambula males, and Birmingham breakaway males are 2 different groups.

Not too much to brag about killing lionesses. Dang heads are twice their size. I think I get it…..let it be known if you don’t submit to my bloodline I make example out of you kinda thing. Just don’t seem to smart killing breeding females why not run off (or do away with their maturing male cubs) the lioness’ cubs to bring them back into season? I don’t know I’m sincerely posing the question. Maybe they knew those lionesses would not submit in the future either? I don’t know nothing about it but I am convinced as time goes on what used to be stated as fact in animal behavior was most likely not true. “Oh it’s known they (pick an animal) are just reacting to stimulus…..” or “wild animals have no concept of revenge…..” most of the time when you watch the older documentaries like 80s and 90s they were constantly saying these statements of fact while you’re watching the very thing being played out on film. 😁 Anyway I know it doesn’t matter. @@ScarYT I have a friend from Kruger Park who does their own independent filming. Told me a month ago guides from Kruger said Nhenha injuries were to bad for any recovery. I rarely speak about the information anymore because of the online harassment just as many guides and park rangers.
