I don't understand the shift points. Never driven an FF though. Looks a lot different in an SRF.

The hardest thing to do in racing is to Lift when you want to go faster. Patience and timing are the key in FF. Going up through the esses you can get more of a draft as you might think. You have to keep in mind where the best place is to pull out and pass before the chicane. At the crest of the esses is Not the best place! Lifting and letting the car in front pull you down the straight will keep you with him until it's time and then you can Blow past him enough to make it stick. In a 64 car Super National I was able to go from 6th to 2nd on one pass because I was able to leap frog from car to car and made it stick. Two cars I was able to pass while still lifted. Then I Punched it to get the other two. It took patience to lift down the first part of the straight and not pull the pin too early. Kind of like what you did at 23:19 and at 25:20 but they went two by two and I drafted from the left two then jumped to the right two and then down the right side of all of them all. This was before the chicane was put in.. Nice run!

Oops - Just noticed this race was from 2017. Just found out you qualified second at the 2017 run offs at Indy. Nice! Nothing for 11 months? Nice driving and nice management of the under steer. The lines were good and I loved the early apexes. The gearing seemed a little off, or maybe the under steer was the problem with getting on the power earlier? The data display was good except the Gee meter looked a little erratic. The top speed was interesting. I calculated my top speed in the Brabham FC car I drove years ago at 138 at the end of the main strait with no bus stop. 131 is not too shoddy in a FF! I drove ice racers, FC and FF from 1969 up until '89 when the motor in my Crossle 62F blew due to a faulty component. I was out of money and out of racing. Did a test day in a Skippy pro car when I still had resources and would have qualified fifth. Economic factors interfered with my plans to sell the Crossle and turn semi-pro. :( My first Skuppy pro season was to be the year Rob Wilson won the series championship. I was just hoping to finish in the top half as most of the venues would be new to me. Oh well! I won an FC race at the Glen in my FC Brabham 28/35 though. That was when the chicane was at the bottom of the hill. The Brabham was really good through there and up the hill. I'm also happy to see that the concrete patch going into the boot is finally gone. It was a real pain when I was driving FF. At LRP I always had under steer through the left hander and had to induce some trailing throttle over steer to get the thing to rotate. I never got serious blisters though :) I later found out it was because of an overheating damper. Once at LRP I got stuck behind a slower car, a Swift with a good motor. I finally wised up, slowed down at the top of the hill until the guy was through West Bend, did a good W.B. and downhill, got a good draft and blew by him like he was chained to a stump. My lap times were about a second and a half quicker on a clear lap. Moral of the story - don't let the car in front dictate your corner exit speed! Anyway, the diceing looked like a lot of fun! That's the part I miss the most :( Hope the car wasn't hurt too bad in the contact. I got punted up the rear in the rain on No Name when slowing for a FC car that was destroying itself on the guardrails. I got away with a little hole in the rear gearbox cover. The other car, oddly enough the next years model Crossle, had the whole front destroyed. It's a minor miracle the driver didn't break his ankles! I'm glad to see decent FF fields. When I was racing, it wasn't unusual to have to run two FF race groups and even have to qualify for the slowest group. There was always somebody to race with. Good luck for the future, ya got some skill and talent. Regards -Dave

Nice consistent laps. Any time you can catch and run with the leaders the results will come. Always hated the bus stop. I understand why they put it in but still hate it
