Hate to burst your bubble, but the Hollywood version did not match the real story. I read an article about this many years ago. Joe Montana and other former teammates were critical of the movie, saying some of it was just not true, while some of it was just overdone. Movies are never accurate. I always loved how the players finally embraced him! The figured out that his determination and going wide open on every play made them all better at practice. Don’t think I have ever watched the end without getting chills and watery eyes. I grew up playing 3 sports thru school and it takes me back to some awesome times with brothers in the trenches

It was a movie, fer crissakes. What makes you think that all the details of the actual events were faithfully captured in the movie. I'd say not much of it, based on an article I read years ago about this film. Montana was critical of both the movie and of Rudy. But, life is full of myths, and people love myths.

3 times. 3 times I always manage to shed a tear during this scene. When he finally runs out on to the field, when he makes the tackle, and when he's carried off the field. This is such a heart-warming story, god dammit!! ☺🙂😐😑😪😭😭😭😭

@@LoveBaseballLove Yes, I get a fuzzy warm feeling when Jamie O'Hara (played by Vince Vaughn) points at Rudy and says "That was for you." They turned the tables on Dan Devine and that was so satisfying.

Praise God He allowed me to watch this movie when I was an under-sized center in HS. And then, God allowed me to live this out at USC back in Nov., ‘99. Thanks, Rudy. Thanks, Sean Astin. Thanks to the guy who started the chant and actually chants “Ru-ey” about mid way through. All thanks to God. Walking on in college football at ‘SC was other-worldly. Getting into the game & having the crowd chant my name was Heaven come to earth.
