I sincerely doubt it - Star Trek breeds a culture of respect, both for others and oneself. Sir Patrick has always spoken very fondly about his time on the bridge, and the way people at conventions have told him he's literally saved lives, because people wouldn't be able to watch ST if they'd voluntarily unalived themselves already.

I never liked him in the past, then one night he did a show about the troubles in Northern Ireland and he was a revelation really witty and gritty, like a different person

He rose to prominence as a stand up comic doing comedy about the issues in Northern Ireland I believe. He was considered very good back then. And then he sold out to presenting.
