Scenic Otis Hydraulic Library Elevator @ The UW-Madison School of Law in Madison, WI

Next up on the Madison uploads is the library elevator in the school of law building on the UW-Madison campus. This place has some cool architechure making this library look super cool! It features this glass Otis hydraulic elevator that is similar to the atrium car with the main exception of this one having single slide doors. This does have an interesting configuration with both doors being on opposite corners of one another. This does run pretty well and offers some sweet views. Although it is a little bit slow and was low on oil, I still like this thing.
I was unable to ride the 4th elevator in the building as it was locked!

Everyone says these Otis Series 1 elevators are so common yet I haven’t even found a single one!

@Skivator Yeah it’s weird I keep finding a portion of the rarer elevators but not really any of the common ones. I mean I’ve found a few Schindler 330A’s and 300A’s but Otis has oddly been a rather elusive brand in my area.

Do you need a visitor’s pass to be able to enter these buildings as a visitor? Because I’ve wanted to film elevators on this campus as well.

Nope, every building I went too was completely open to the public.

@@Skivator Alright… also, I don’t even know what is up on 6R other than the fact that there is a door blocking it. I guess the highest public floor you can go to is floor 5 due to… this.
