Ja ja gut gut we were in Austria, Switzerland, Bavaria, Germany, summer 2023 and twice 2024. Went up to Prague and Kunta Hora too. Salzsburg, Hallstadt, Berchdesgarten, Garmisch Partinkirchen. Bern, Lucerne, Grindelwald, Zermatt, Colmar in France.....trains trains trains....all were magical....could return to all but....Austria Austria. Onertraun, Hallstadtsee, took train from Hallstadt to Feldkirch. Super. We must return to Obertraun, Hallstadt Austria in general. Never enough time....cannot complain however....maybe Switzerland's cost but you know that going in...😊

Believe me even if you are born here you could feel like a foreigner in this country when you visit other parts of the country you are raised in. Austria is a pretty small country compared to most others so it kinda feels like a gift a calm peacful place on earth. You definatly recognize how small you are standing ona mountain peak in the alps, I don't want to be up there in a stormy night!

I was not long in Vienna but I plan to return, one of my favorite places was Ödensee a very quiet place, Hochosterwitz castle very beautiful and also in Hallstatt - Salzkammergut was where I spent the most time that when I return I have to go again.

My grandfather and his brothers escaped from Austria during the 1933's, due to the conflict with Germany (which by the way my other Grandfather was from!) They both came to the USA, but I wish he would've stayed in Austia - it is absolutely, stunningly, beautiful!
