Love Royal Oud. One of my absolute favorites of all time. It always feels warm yet kind of soulless so your empty hotel example really is spot on. Creed and their ‘history’ has always felt like the good buddy who cant keep his own stories straight. But man....that drydown.

This blew my mind...Royal Oud has always reminded me of a luxurious hotel, too! Your poetic description was almost exactly as what this fragrance already evokes with me. The only difference is, the hotel that this conjures for me, is not necessarily empty. I wonder what it is about this fragrance that does this, or if this is a sensory coincidence. Either way, massive appreciation for the creative video.

Wonderful and exacting use of scenery and music. The cologne smells juat like the walk in woods, at the begining with that music. To me it smells also like honey comb in that forest. There is also another level or dimension where it smells green, like the trees, and some flowers growing on those branches. In order to unlock this dimension, you have to apply it correctly. On my skin, i try not to apply it after taking a shower when the skin is stripped of oils by the soap, but wait, after work maybe.....people go crazy when they smell it, they dont know what it is.

Hi, I’d like to here your thought on this mate……is it true the older royal oud millesimé smells more dark and woody on the opening than the newer royal oud? My royal oud smells a lot more fresh and woody than a 30ml decant I bought. I thought it was fake at first until I’ve done some Googling, there’s not much out there but I’ve seen people say the older millesimé is defo more darker and woody and smells quite a bit different from the start until they both dry down, is this your experience too? Amazing video - great storytelling and visuals. I like the out-of-the-box concept of it. As for Royal Oud...I have a decant and don’t care for it. The dry down after about 90 minutes is very nice. But the opening and mid to me are medicinal and slightly unpleasant. Maybe in time I will change my mind too.

I ordered this perfume this summer, it came broken. So maybe because of that frustration, I jus wanted my money back and lucky for me, they did refund me, I returned them the bottle and never looked back. I love Creeds, but thought this one is just not for me. Until few months ago when I saw THIS VIDEO. It made me think about this perfume. I loved the video, the "vibe" it created it is truly one of your best. Today I received my new Creed Royal oud. And you my friend are a GENIUS. It is hands down THE BEST VISUAL REPRESENTATION of any smell I have ever seen. The comparison is SPOT ON. Luxurious, dusty, rundown hotel with glorious past. I love royal oud. The only drawback is that the scent is really really dry. And dries out my nose and I often end up with a headache... It's definitely a fragrance for outdoors and cold weather. Not inside a hotel nor a sunny warm room

Royal oud is my favorite Creed fragrance, but I don't get any oud. I get really nice woody notes and if there is any real oud in there , it is so little that I can't smell it. Anyway, I consider this to be an excellent fragrance.
