Solid review of an interesting fragrance, good job! I'd be curious to try this, even though I'm not much a fan of the house, especially when it comes to menswear, or compared to a lot of other Italian designers (Armani, Gianfranco Ferre, Versace, etc.). Curious do you have, or tried Basile Uomo? Basile Forte also excellent. Have been on an 80s italian fragrance deep dive lately, there's an astonishingly good amount of high quality fragrance (Smalto, Borsalino, Romeo Gigli, etc.) from that era and that region.

Hi, not sure if you can help me with this inquiry, but it seems that you are knowledgeable about Dolce Gabbana fragrances. I bought a villa some years ago, and when I was cleaning I found a very large bottle of yellow colored liquid labeled Dolce Gabbana. Now the villa was built around 1991, and the bottle was hidden in the dark at the back of a basement understairs cup board, as if it had been forgotten about by a previous owner of my home. It was unboxed, but it looks in great condition and appears not to have been opened. There is no sediment in the bottom of the bottle and I have kept it in the dark since I found it about 3 years ago. I have photos of it which I can send you if you are interested. Any thoughts you can provide would be appreciated. Thanks

Great choice for a review. I haven't worn this in 20 years or so. But you mentioned the magic words: Summer Fragrance. And why not wear it in Summer? With the citrus and neroli, It's as appropriate as anything else, in my opinion. And it's hard for me to get excited about most summer fragrances. But I do recall liking D&G Pou Homme quite a bit. If it turns into a skin scent after an hour or two, fine, I'll spray some on my shirt to make it last a bit longer. Good review as usual, my healthy looking friend. The one...the only....peeling sticker champion. I've tried all the versions - Italy, Germany, France and UK - and the last 3 are pretty much the same. I.e. terrible. 😄 Unless you like the smell of grainy laundry detergent. Night and day between the versions to my nose and I have a suspicion that they're going to eventually change it again to something heavier on the aroma molecules ala Dior Homme 2020 and H24. Don't quote me on that but it seems like every brand is following the iso-e/cashmeran/ambrox/amberwood trend for their flagship l'homme/pour homme scents. I suppose we're left with relying on the clone brands to bring back the originals. C'est la vie.

@Donmenon3 жыл бұрын
@@ScentsOfSouthJersey Mackie opens up fresh, ozonic and sweet but is a fougere at its core. It's similar to Minotaure by Paloma Picasso only that it's more complex with those green elements. The green notes become slightly more prominent as it dries down with spices and a soapyness that's reminiscent of Alfred Sung in terms of feel. It's very much a fragrance of 1992 with so many of these nuances. I can't guarantee that you'll like it tbh but at $5 it's certainly worth checking out for its sheer complexity and unique scent profile. A great spring cheapie imo.
