Scentsy BRICK TALK - What I’ve Been Warming - SPRING Round Up & Summer Picks

I like to separate my brick warming from my monthly Scentsy empties, mainly because bricks are so large they can take a while to work through. Each season I pull a few bricks to work on. Then after the 3 months I talk about my thoughts and show where I’m at with “using it up”.
The next brick update video will be mid September as we transition out of summer and into fall.

I hope Forever Flannel makes it into the catalogue too! I also trimmed it from my club because I thought it was only a bedroom scent. If it comes back I’ll rethink that - it would be great in several other areas. I usually have more bricks on hand. I’ve warmed all of last year’s summer bricks, I’ve warmed through all the tree shaped set from Christmas which includes a backup Cozy Kitchen which I just finished. I have 4 tucked away for fall-winter (Maraschino Sugar Cookie, Caramel Chestnut, Christmas Cottage & Pumpkin Roll) & the only summer one I have on hand is Sea Salt Avocado. I always have Welcome Home & Sugar Cookie in play. Usually VBBC too but I haven’t replaced it yet. I might do an in-out club & grab that. I sometimes find that some bricks crumble when you cut them even with a warm cutting utensil. That’s a pain. It is so dry here I wonder if they dry out a bit. What do you use to cut your bricks?

Yes to Forever Flannel!! I mix with Fluffy Fleece and it lasts forever 😊 Love! My bricks are all from destash (I call this my adopted wax). I adore Berry Cosmo Boogie and would love to see that come back. I now have a basement at my new house so most of my bricks are getting used up down there. Great idea on Johnny + Caramel Chestnut (I have that one!) Yay for a brick video!

My brick collection isn’t huge, I currently have 13 bricks. I finished two this summer: Pink Apple & Nectarine and Beach Daisy. Everything else I have is fall/winter. I keep a spreadsheet of all of my bars and bricks and set a goal to use a certain number of brick cubes seasonally and that usually helps me work through them a good pace. I stopped buying bricks when I found I just wasn’t getting through them. That said, Sea Salt & Avacado is calling my name! I did just finish a juicy Jammy Time and a Squeeze the Day. Still need to get through 1 1/2 bricks of Frosted Petals and whole bricks of Caramel Chesnut & Maraschino Cherry.

I got Forever Flannel in a bar and it was light for me. I still threw it in my club, because I liked the fragrance and want to try it again in hopes it will be stronger. I push back that club until September. To me it is a very pleasant relaxing type fragrance to wind down the day with in the evening. I’ve never gotten a brick because I don’t want the commitment as I get tired of fragrances easily.

Oooo well done! Like all the others, I love your brick videos!! I have a few, but I seem to be picky with my bricks. I have to really love a scent to get one, and they have to be good performers. For that reason, I’m always late to the game in ordering and they’re usually gone by then. I always Keep Sugar Cookie, VBBC, and Skinny Dippin on hand, and I have 1.5 Maraschino Sugar Cookie and 1.5 Fluffy Fleece. Happy warming this month💛

Great work on your bricks Patricia!! My brick count is currently at 3! 🤣 My "new" Red Pear & Pomegranate brick seems to be slightly lighter than my previous bars, but that's ok because it will help me warm through it a little faster and it won't sit around. I still have 2 bricks on my wishlist - I need Sugar Cookie and Blue Grotto because those are two more scents that I reach for often and have finished multiple bars of, so I know I will use them! My rule is to never purchase a brick I've never smelled before... Actually that generally applies to bars now too, because my stash is too filled with bars that are just so-so or I didn't like and I can't get through them! I'm shifting my focus to only purchasing scents that I know I love and want to warm all the time, so that includes my club scents and some catalogue staples. I wish there was a brick of Go, Go, Mango! That would be on my list too! Throughout this scent journey these last few years, I've come to realize that I actually don't like as much variety as I thought! I would probably be pretty happy to just warm my top 10 or so scents on rotation from now on for forever, lol. Looking at my stash has been giving me more anxiety than excitement because there are SO MANY bars in there that I just don't like very much and I just can't bring myself to warm them, but I know I need to in order to finish them and get rid of them. I am very impressed by your ability to warm stuff that you don't particularly like! I realize it's part of my autistic traits that I like repetitive things (the same movies, same music, same foods, same hobbies over and over again without getting tired of them) that is definitely showing up in my scent preferences. The same scents on repeat are working for me these days 😂 It's the comfort of routine and stability I think. (Although I still LOVE hearing everyone's reviews of all the new stuff! I live vicariously through reviews!) I find this all very interesting!! Lol!

Do you have locals that you sell to? If so you can draw up a list of bars that you don’t care for …let them know you would like to sell and communicate to them privately one on one (to stay within compliance.)

This is one of my favorite videos to watch! I love bricks, and I have a lot of them. To make sure I'm working on my stash consistently, I decided to start warming some of the bakery ones each day. So I pulled 5 bricks from my stash, chopped up the first three rows (each cube cut into three pieces), and that is what I warm in my kitchen each day. I change the wax in the kitchen daily, and just rotate those five bricks. I try to finish a brick each month, but sometimes that doesn't happen. I always enjoy seeing your progress, and it's very encouraging as well. Thanks for helping to keep us motivated to work on our bricks. Awesome video, as always!!

I think you have the right approach. If you devote an area or a day to bricks it’s a habit to use them and things kind of take care of themselves. I tend to warm bricks closer to the end of the month when I’ve melted all my wax melting challenges (I melt ahead)

I love your brick videos! You made good progress, well done! I don’t buy many bricks, pretty much only when it’s a special scent I can’t otherwise get (like Maraschino Sugar Cookie in a flash sale) or as my 50% off item with my club. I bought one of the 2023 Christmas bricks because my son desperately wanted a Christmas tree wax 😂 I think I have six total bricks.

I love bricks!! I always work through my Skinny Dippin brick easily every summer and also Johnny Appleseed (JA is great alternating with Orchard by the Sea). I probably have about 20 bricks, some are more fall/winter. Hope we get bricks in the catalog this fall. Forever Flannel is so good, and I don’t usually care for laundry type scents. You’re making great progress Patricia! 🤗

I have 17 bricks in my collection. I strugggle with them because i dont reach for them as often. Bricks are kind of like scoopable wax. But i have been warming some and i am trying to use at least 2 to 3 over the summer.

I never even owned a bar of forever flannel but your comparison to coconut cotton made me club it - whenever my next club ships I'll finally get to smell it! I've been awful at working on my bricks and only last week did I melt from my bricks ...but they were all new bricks of skinny dippin, squeeze the day, coconut lemongrass and sun kissed citrus. I did melt my super old 2018 last remaining brick of silver bells this weekend but only a brick cubes worth. Total brick count still at 19. My last completed brick was in March - Frosted Petals.

I did get the tree bricks because I noticed you could take the 5 pack bundle as a half off with hostess rewards, so I got all 5 for $45 USD and that’s a steal! I sold the orange based one right off the bat bc I can’t do those orange ones! 😂 people seemed to go wild over forever flannel and I bet we do see this in the catalog. But, I am just not a fan of the bricks, they are too large, hard to cut and I never seem to reach for them 😩

So fun! I always find it so interesting how noses are so different. I love Orchard By the Sea - I put that in my club, but I don’t care for Johnny Appleseed at all 🤷🏼‍♀️ I really like Pink Apple & Nectarine in the clam, but I put it throughout my house last week & couldn’t smell a thing - nothing. I love Summer Berry Melon & I have found mixing it with Watermelon Tangerine brings out the best in both of them 😍

It’s a good mixer. I’m eventually going to alternate with Sugar cookie but I have the brick in the video plus one more from 2019. I remember way back I used free credit on the bricks so I’m finally almost done

Brick video! ❤❤❤❤ I enjoyed Frosted Petals when it came out with the holiday collection but, based on KZbin reviews, I saw that it was not as popular as others and did not club it, banking on the bricks showing up in clearance at some point - which they did. I think I still have 3 bricks of it 😅 but I enjoy occasionally using it throughout the upstairs bathroom, hall, and spare room.

We have Forever Flannel in our R3 catalogue so you never know, it might re-appear in R1 again. We don’t have the option of getting bricks through Club sadly…maybe one day? My favourite bricks were my first purchases of Maraschino Sugar Cookie and Caramel Chestnut which I got through very quickly as I loved them! Now I only have two from last years spring/summer release Sunset Sky & Strawberry and Candy Apple, both of which I am struggling through. I saw a video of yours where you said Candy Apple smelt like Lysol wipes. We don’t have them here and I don’t even know what they are but I get the idea of what you’re talking about! Pew!!

Lysol wipes are antibacterial/ disinfectant wipes that they try to scent with things to disguise the strong smell.

After I used up quite a few bricks (and tagged you on IG), I almost stopped using them altogether. BUT most of my bricks are fall/winter, and I’ve been focusing on using up some of my bars of VBB and Sugar Cookie and Johnny before breaking into my newer bricks. I also managed to get 2 new/used bricks of scents I love or like so my count went up this spring. But I’m happy with where my count is…for now. Come fall/winter, I need to work hard again! I cannnoooot decide if I like Forever Flannel. Part of me loves it, but in the warmers, I have to keep that room closed off and only occasionally visit it. I do agree it feels almost summery….I have 2 bar cubes left and I don’t want to use them up in case I find the magical season where I love it….but I also need to use them up. Haha! So in that sense, I’d be happy if it comes back to the catalog. I’d be able to have another chance to try it out.

Yes I understand about forever flannel. I recall it being really light when warming early on, but I thought it was a bit better after sitting and aging. I haven’t tried it in my new place so I’m looking forward to it.

I mostly get bricks through club I try to finish at least 1 before a new one comes quarterly. Lately they have been crumbling when I cut them. Not sure what that’s about. I even bought a new cutter and same issue. Makes it hard to fit them back in place when I chop a full row.

@@PatriciaG-NosetoToes Blue Grotto was the first one to do it and probably the worst so I’ve been avoiding melting it. It melts fine I just don’t like how messy it is to cut. My most recent brick of Squeeze The Day has also been doing it.

Great video!!! I love Forever Flannel too!! I hope they bring it back. I am not using any of my bricks right now. I only have 2 in my collection, and they are at home in Idaho in my wax closet. I really hope they bring back forever flannel. I know they won’t, but cozy kitchen too! I’m surprised they chose summer berry melon as the brick scent to go in the catalog, I thought pink apple was the better scent by far. I buy all the bricks every time so I have plenty- I really wish they don’t do the trees again this year. I make sure to melt bricks every month so I’m depleting the stash.
