Astrolabe has done wonders for Legacy, it makes wasteland less punishing. But more than that it makes 2 and 3 colour decks affordable for new players. Much easier to get into paper Legacy when you don't have to drop a bunch of money on playsets of Duals, Just one in each colour pair, snow-basics and astrolabe and you are set. you can get a 3-colour deck for $2000 instead of $5000....

I partially agree with you. But leaving the money argument behind, the format shifts to a point again where the pile decks are able to capitalize on their greed. I mean, it's kinda silly when a fourcolor deck has Blood Moons in the side. While you could partially punish the greed.dec with DRS or W6 in the past, astrolabe now totally shuts off that route. I'm not trying to defend Wasteland, but neither do I see Wasteland as something that we should be getting rid of.
