Thanks for the ride. Reminds me of the way I used to ride in the mountains of Colorado when I was a kid in my 20's. I am 62 now and those rides are but a memory for me now. As my mortality became a reality the thrill changed from peg scraping to seeing the scenery God put there for me to enjoy. Your rides bring back a great time in my life. I have been riding for more than 45 years. Whether I am cruising along on my Harley Sportster or on my 1982 Yamaha XJ650 Maxim thinking about how I use to ride much like you I am still a biker. Thanks again for the ride along and all your videos I enjoy them very much.

thank you so much for your nice comment!! I absolutely love that my videos are able to do that. I have great respect for riders like you, especially because you don't bash me for my quick riding but instead you think of your younger self and all the fun you had back then while riding fast. I'm pretty sure that my riding habits will change as soon as my own 'life perspective' starts to change. Right now there's just nothing more important to me. And as long as I do my best to only put my own life at risk I think it's okay to 'live like that'.

Nice riding Schaaf, proving yet again that the CB500 is all you need for these roads. How long does a set of pegs last? :)
@Schaaf11 жыл бұрын
thanks a lot! 30 horses more and the CB500 would be perfect. I realized this yet again while riding downhill on this particular road. It was even more fun than going uphill ;) I'll probably replace the left peg before the start of this new year's season. But that would be my first one!

@JaySdt11 жыл бұрын
If your pegs were shorter could you get a more steap angle on a turn or would it be too much and slide over?
@Schaaf11 жыл бұрын
the CB500's pegs start to "tilt themselves up" (or fold up, don't know how to say this in English) as soon as they touch the ground surface. They are not limiting my lean angle. The exhaust on the right side of the bike does. That's the reason why I don't get down too far in right-hand corners!

@Schaaf11 жыл бұрын
Danke! :)
@TehWulf11 жыл бұрын
@Schaaf11 жыл бұрын

I have frequently ridden at a similar pace... The recent incident involving MSC has me thinking. I've always known I could end up burger, but somehow knowing his condition - from skiing no less - My pace will slow. Thinking of his family and their suffering...I can't stand the thought of my family suffering like that. Maybe I'm just getting old(er)???
@Schaaf11 жыл бұрын
Probably. Every accident gets me thinking. But only as long as I'm NOT on my bike. As soon as I'm riding these thoughts are gone. I wouldn't be able to ride like that if I felt any doubt or fear about it. But that's all a matter of how much enjoyment one does get from taking risks & how much 'value' does one's life have? Right now I don't have too many things which I really appreciate besides a couple of friends and my bike. I'm almost 100% sure that my pace will change one day in the future. If I make it that far.
@livebyreason11 жыл бұрын
You might. Reading your reply is shocking - not for what it is, but that it's a carbon copy of my thoughts when in my 20's. Now, late in my 30's I'm realizing what I had even in my 20's. Nothing has really changed either - no wife/kids/pets. Those things have never really appealed to me... As I ride, the confidence at speed is the same as well as the enjoyment of risk - but the thoughts do creep in now and again. Above all enjoy life - but stay safe enough to ride another day...so far we're winning. :) Take care mate.
@Schaaf11 жыл бұрын
I do my very best to stay alive. Even if it doesn't look like that to many other people. We shouldn't forget that these videos show about 5% of my total riding. People would be very surprised to see how I ride when the camera's turned off. Actually they'd be bored to death. Thanks for your comments, mate. You too stay reasonably safe :)
