Did you not consider putting a trapezium tailpiece into the strap screw just to check location with strings on?they are a few euro,nothing schaller required, it just gives you the option to view and listen before drilling.?

I was hoping for a video where you show us your technique / tips on drilling holes and fitting in the bridge saddles please? 😁

Unfortunately, I didn't record that part. It's pretty straight forward, as once you have laid out the position of the posts, you simply drill to depth with the right size bit. I use my drill press. I'll try to remember to record it next time I build a guitar with this type of bridge.

He makes is sound more difficult than it is. Sure it's a good idea to go through all of the math very carefully but he's really dragging it out. Angling the bridge will ensure your saddles have plenty of room for adjustment. I've installed about 8 of these bridges and a 7/16" hole is perfect. It is nice and snug but not too small that you would need to widen it with a round file.

Did this go any further? Would love to see how you got on with it

Thanks for watching and commenting. I kinda set the project aside for a while to work on other guitar builds because I couldn't decide how I wanted to finish it. I've actually finished it twice since then and recently stripped all the finish to try again. Hopefully I will have a video update soon. In the meantime, check out my other videos and please consider subscribing. Thanks!

Thanks for the video. I've been thinking of buying the same bridge exactly. Would you care to comment a bit more on why you chose the signum? By the way, waiting for the next video.

Hey Paulo, sorry for the delayed response. There were really three reasons I chose the Signum: (1) I really like the quality of Schaller's products, (2) I prefer bridges that have a lot of adjust-ability (in case I I a bit off on my placement of it), and (3) I really like the way it looks. I typically prefer clean-simple designs.

Gibson have to angle their wraparound tailpieces due to them not having adjustable saddles
@italianguitargarage7086 жыл бұрын
What neck angle did you used?
@rmalderson5 жыл бұрын
Sorry, I don't recall the exact neck angle. It's actually smaller than you would think since the bridge has a fairly low profile.
@ninosciorra63126 жыл бұрын
Does it need a break angle neck? Or it s like a telecaster bridge?
@rmalderson6 жыл бұрын
Yes, you definitely will need to determine the break angle if you use this bridge. The action would likely be too high otherwise.
