Those Floyd Rose flaws are pretty common on Special and Licensed bridges, try an Original Hot Rod one (since a Hot Rod Special version is what you have on your axe right now) i think you will be pretty happy with that upgrade but yes, the outdated design is a little bit annoying when the intonation is needed a set up.

Hey, HP. Which Ibanez models would you recommend under $1000 USD? Definitely need one with a floating bridge and a locking nut. On your other video you've said you aren't a fan of sub 1000 dollar guitar term systems, but is there anything in that price range that's respectable enough?

Great review, beautiful guitar and sounds amazing but unfortunately couldn't keep it in tune,even without using the trem I found any contact with the bridge whilst palm muting was throwing it way out of tune.I have an Omen extreme with FR special and have had no real issues with it.A bit gutted that I had to return this guitar but what use is a guitar if it cannot keep in tune.By the way I only use the tremolo for flutters but you couldn't even touch it without throwong it out of tune!

Man those 'cons' are quite big considerations. To be honest, I don't think Floyd's are worth it the pain for most people, myself included. That said, I love my Schecters; my 10 year old Omen 6 is still the one I grab most often, although its my second cheapest guitar... ive put some emg 57-66 in it and some grovers on it- perfect.

My teacher used to joke, that if one wants to buy a floyd, it's worthwhile considering 5 more for different tunings. Lowkey It do be like that tho.

On your guitar you have Floyd Rose Special it is the cheapest made from zinc alloy..the Floyd Rose Special price is around 90€ Floyd Rose Original is 280€ made from high-quality steel parts that are precision made in German.. I replaced a Floyd Rose Special with Schaller Lockmeister (160€) on my Schecter Sun Valley FR..waaa..the guitar stays in tune even I use a big dive bomb.

Lower the string tree. If the strings don’t cross the nut at the right angle it causes tuning issues.

These Schecter 6FR's sound really hollow, I believe that the feedback from the amp is also present? What's your take on the wood quality and the floyd quality as well?

@@lilwayne1994 nah, i can´t really recommend this guitar for floyd first timers. this one has a floyd rose special, which isn´t manufactured very precisely. i would rather recommend a guitar with a higher end floyd, or perhaps an ibanez. their tremolo systems are rock solid. i ended up switching the floyd for a schaller on mine. it´s got much better tuning stability now.

i bought it from thomann. sadly, a lot of things are not in stock these days. my favorite strings are also nowhere to be found.

The Floyd isn't bad it's the tuners.. they're crap. Change those out with Grover rotomatics..much better

Once the Floyd’s nut is locked the tuners are irrelevant. It’s a licensed Floyd Rose special which at times aren’t very good.
