Todd, this was the one video I needed to see before making the purchase. The acoustic sound at the start of your vlog floored me. I will definitely consider your recommendations on strings. Thanks. Great job.

The piezo sounds good enough on its own, but I think with some acoustic IRs in a Helix or Headrush it would sound really great.

I'm currently using 3Sigma IRs. Best in class IMO.
great sound...came here looking for Phish, Dead and jazz tones and was not disappointed. Thanks.

+Atacama Humanoid Cool man, I appreciate it. I'm still trying to find time to work out a new video with the Seymour duncans but have another project that has taken a lot of my time.

An additional thought. I always dreamed of getting a Rickenbacker 325; John Lennon, the jangle sound, and all that. However, at one-half the price of the the Ric, this Schecter looks like it might be a decent substitute for the 325. Or, am I just having another idiotic dream?

Will try to get it out there this weekend...I actually use the JB 59 combo in a lot of my stuff and feel like it's worth every penny.

There been a change to body design ? Some have one hole this has two ?
@Advosary2 жыл бұрын
Yup, the ones with one hole also have 24 frets and a different control layout. Seems like a newer version.

Thanks for the review. Now that you have had the guitar for sometime, would you still recommend it to someone looking to get their first electric guitar?
@toddincharlotte8 жыл бұрын
I'm going to go with a no as a first guitar. My thought is that a beginner guitarist is likely going to have access to just one amp and therefore not be able to take advantage of the main feature of having acoustic and electric sounds available in one guitar. I suppose a beginner could practice some electric and then switch jacks to get the acoustic tones but to make things simple I would just shoot for a plain C1 which could be had for 200 or less.

Hey, great review, exactly what I was looking for... When will you be doing the follow up?
@toddincharlotte7 жыл бұрын
Michael L I'm going to try to do something this weekend actually....been busy with other guitars but my rhythm player has been playing this pretty religiously. I will pray it out of his hands this weekend and re demo it with 10s and the Seymour Duncans.

toddincharlotte I got the guitar for Christmas and absolutely love it! I'm running it through an orange crush pro amp and Ernie ball slinkies on it, couldn't have asked for better

Can you blend the piezo in with magnetic output using one output jack/amp?
@toddincharlotte4 жыл бұрын
You could do this with a summing cable. There are two output jacks. You would want to sum them into a single output to the amp. This is tricky though because you generally want a completely clean signal for the acoustic side. The way I run my amp wouldn't work for this application. Better to treat them as two separate signals.

Have you swapped out for 10's yet and if so, what are your thoughts?
@toddincharlotte8 жыл бұрын
I have. I use Ernie Ball Pure Nickel 10s on all my electrics. It has helped to tame the quack and buzz of the piezo. Also gives a fuller sound and tighter feel to the neck. Something it was lacking before. I've also swapped out the Duncan Designs for a SeymourDuncan JB/59 pickup combo. Perhaps it's time for a follow-up!

You've got THOUSANDS of dollars worth of equipment all around you, why not spend just a few dollars and buy a lapel mike where we can hear you. Plus it into that nice expensive mixing board and run it all to the camera. The guitar sounds great, you, unfortunately, sound like you talking through a sock from across the street.... I'm sorry to sound so harsh, but I just can't understand all that fine gear and sound equipment and then cutting back so badly on a lapel mike....
@docf.n.t.23104 жыл бұрын
You don't run it to the camera. You use a video editing software in a computer, run all sound from board into inputs of interface, then run cameras through USB to computer (unless camera requires other type interface). Camera files can also be recorded in camera, then transferred to the computer (likely still through USB). Synchronizing separate files can easily be done by listening to the audio of each channel, one at a time. Overall volume can be adjusted before finalizing. PS, Multiple cameras can be used at once this way, then select shot angle as needed !

@@docf.n.t.2310 You seem to have missed the main focus of what I suggested - USE A LAPEL MIKE! You answered with all kinds of unrelated interconnects and settings. The specific connections are irrelevant - USE A LAPEL MIKE! IF YOU ALREADY ARE USING A LAPEL MIKE - GET A BETTER ONE! I've been shooting video professionally since 1985, including with several TV stations. I have been mixing audio since the 1970's in the radio business and disco business, on top of that I've been mixing band audio since the mid 1960s... USE A LAPEL MIKE YOU'LL SOUND MUCH MORE PROFESSIONAL!
@toddincharlotte4 жыл бұрын
The guitar tones are what matter bud. That's what people come for. I'm not here as a "professional" I'm just giving people what they want to hear which is the guitar tones in high quality audio resolution. Maybe you should make your own videos since you "know how it's done". Checked your channel. Zero original material, one subscriber.

@@toddincharlotte LOL!!! Now I can see how you think... and that's the reason you voice sounds bad... You're stubborn... You keep making excuses where you could sound GREAT OVERALL if you'd just accept a little tip from outside. But for some reason you try to redirect the argument into me not having a channel, TOTALLY IRRELEVANT!!!! LOL!!! I look around for people, like you, who have the guitar talent that I DON'T so I can learn... You apparently aren't capable of growing, learning and improving when someone suggests GET A LAPEL MIKE. Go check out Darrel Braun for instance - sounds great all around - guitar and vocal. YOU could sound professional like that IF you'd just GET A LAPEL MIKE! LOL!!! It's really simple! Okay, now it's your turn - go ahead make up some additional irrational, irrelevant points about ME... Guess what - it ain't gonna make YOUR VOICE SOUND ANY MORE PROFESSIONAL IF YOU DON'T GET A LAPEL MIKE!
