For those curious, it was a 50W superlead (1987x according to legend). He had this from '74 to '78 when he left UFO. When he left, he left is amp and Chapman used it on his first UFO albums. In early MSG he got another super lead with carerra mods (according to legend). By around Built to Destroy is where he moved over to JCM 2205. He did use pignose on Obsession for rhythm, but not lead (lead sounds too good for a pignose on that album). He did use Wah though not nearly as much as suggested. A lot of his mid range core sound came from his V (t-top pickups), his amp and his cab. And although he didn't mention it, nor did Leo Lyons (producer of first 3 Schenker UFO albums), I'm convinced he used plate reverb in a lot of his lead playing rather than delay.

The Pignose was only used in the studio for Lights Out and Obsession. Only rhythm tracks. It was Ron Nevison's idea.
