No this season isn’t. It’s kinda crazy to explain but using the technology they use to enter virtual reality they actually created a world filled with npcs with actual souls. These two fighting are npcs who can die at any time in battle.

alicization kinda makes lose that feeling of a game with realistic blood and the NPC being real as humans. Is best to remember that it’s a classified government simulation and it’s not a game. Like pilot simulations or real time war tactics.

It's not a video game, it's like a second version of the world made by the team called "rath" which they managed to create artificial humans on a fantasy world where sword skills and elements are a thing. artificial humans are like the copy of a real humans, the rath manage to perfect this artificial human intelligence and was able to show it around the world, a perfect copy of a human.
