I do hope they release a new Cavalera album though with songs like Burn The Dead, Sexta Feira 13, Nightmares Of Delirium I feel like they perfected what they wanted to do with their sound and style

dude I've been in love with this album since back in 04. I love that they upped the ante production wise but at the same time the old version's slightly shittier production had it's own charm. But like I've said in the comment section multiple times, if this version gets more people to appreciate this incredible album then I'm ALL in favor of it

I was very interested in how it would sound upon its release. I know that the brothers Cavalera would put a LOT of love into it, and it most certainly sounds like it was given a lot of time and a lot of attention to the details. Hell, I love how, instead of trying to build it up with more modern technology (at least as opposed to what was available back when it was originally released), they don't do that. In fact, maybe it's just me, but it somehow manages to sound just as raw and just as visceral as the original release of Schizophrenia did. Truly amazing work by Max and Iggor, definitely feeling this 4/5.

Excellent review and my favorite channel, you say everything directly what you think, I like the comment for the Kerry King album. And now about Max Cavalera. The man is in great shape, especially since Arthur Rizk is the producer of his albums, Go Ahead And Die Cavalera re recorded albums, and Soulfly - Totem. Max sounds dark, powerful, and I can't believe how powerful he sounds vocally, furious, those screams are amazing. Cavalera Conspiracy and Go Ahead And Die are my favorite projects, then Soulfly and Killer Be Killed.💪🤘

Given that Beneath the Remains and Arise are two of my favourite albums of all time, I would honestly be a little nervous if they were to re-record them. But, I've also heard (through a friend) that they apparently have no intention of doing so. So far, I've failed to find anything solid backing up either narrative, but I really can't say I've tried very hard, the extent of my 'research' having consisted of about five minutes of googling.

@@themetalmeltdownofficial Max did a recent video interview where he says they're not going to be recording any more old Sepultura. He also added 'for the time being' but the whole vibe felt pretty negative around the idea, so I don't think it's going to happen. I tried to link it in a comment here but the comment hasn't shown up (not yet, anyway). Maybe KZbin doesn't like comments containing links. No idea. The video's on a channel called KNOTFEST in case anyone wants to look at it. The timestamp where re-recording more material is discussed is 30 : 45.

There's video of Max and Igor stating that they wanted to rerecord the first 3 releases because they in fact were not happy with the original production sound on those.

Max is in a great shape, those screams on this album, end previous re recorded albums, and Go Ahead And Die - Unhealthy Mechanisms are brutal and sick. I hope for a new Cavalera Conspiracy album in this style without re recording, Nightmares of Delirium is a song that shows that Max can do an excellent old school of death metal and thrash metal music album

@@themetalmeltdownofficial I don’t blame you for thinking it’s an old one, it sounds just like if 80s-early 90s Sepultura came out with an album between Beneath the Remains and Arise! I really hope they keep that sound and make more new music. I love the first four Cavalera Conspiracy albums

The original is my favourite Sepultura album, so you bet, I thought, "why do this?" Even upon putting on the album finally my first thought was, "it's too clean!" But It won me over. Hearing "over the Wall" done this way/with this sound just kicked my sorry butt all the way to Atlantis. This album was important for them because Andreas entered the band and basically kicked them into being a more complex guitar band. He brought so much to the album that it's a world away from Morbid Visions in some ways, and I really love that record, too. Obviously he's not on this recording but after hearing Max and Igor do this my cynicsm can't help but sort of wash away.

Can't wait till they re-record every Max era album. I would agree that this album still retains the positive qualities of the original, but as someone,who enjoyed the raw nature of the original, I see no point in new version existing. Bestial Devastation and Morbid Visions had objective issues with its sound and performance,so them being re-recorded is fine by me. Schizophrenia is much more tight and well-thought out,so the only major reason for its re-recording in my mind is Cavalera brothers wanting more money from old school "Sepultura died with Max" fans. Perhaps I am jaded,I don't know
@themetalmeltdownofficial5 ай бұрын
Honestly thats not an unfair thing to think - its not a secret that nostalgia sells, nor is it a secret that ON TOP OF THAT Sepultura is on a final tour and maybe the Cavalera's see this as a chance to reclaim their music.

Beneath The Remains is perfect as it is since to me it was their breakout album, it was raw, but it sounded perfect. And is one of greatest Metal albums ever made..period. As for Schizophrenia, it needed a fresh "coat of paint" as you put it. This fucking rips, and smokes anything and everything in it's path. Max and Igor did the redo right, but keeping the soul of the old school death thrash while beefing up the production. So far for me it's the Metal album of the year. And it's from 37 years ago. Pretty cool huh?
@blackwaterrust4765 ай бұрын
I loved it when Cavalera did it with morbid Visions/Bestial devastation. It was with schizophrenia that I was gonna be interested. Since Schizophrenia is one of my personal favorite Sepultura. The original just has so much raw, brutal. Primal and insanely violent thrash/Death energy especially. I gotta say, tho this new version is still very impressive. I do like that they still have a lot of anger and energy. I do like the punch Igor’s drums have on this album. But yeah I love max’s vocals still today if not even more, definitely doesn’t need THAT much reverb. Takes me out of the album a little. But overall I don’t like this as much as the original Schizophrenia but this is still a great re-recording 4/5. I’ll be interested if they do the rest of the Cavalera era of Sepultura but I really don’t know if they will Since Beneath the Remains all the way to Roots are arguably all very classic metal albums.

Have you ever listened to the original of this album? I dunno how I feel about a re recorded version. On the one hand I really liked the old school production of the original. But on the other hand I feel like if this helps more metalheads discover this amazing album it's ultimately a net positive for the metal community. Bc this is one of the first thrash albums I was ever recommended and it was by my high school creative writing teacher. But for me remastered and re recorded albums are hit or miss. The original versions are like an old friend ya know. Same happened with the "remistressed" version of Cruelty and The Beast by Cradle. Sure I was real happy that they made the drum track more full and prominent but at the same time that thin slightly shitty production value of the original had it's own particular charm BECAUSE the production wasn't super polished. And yeah the drum tracks in the original DID sorta have a typewriter quality to them but for me it's like fuck it I can still hear them and they're still technical and precise as fuck so yeah I could live without that

I’m still a little torn between the two, I listened to schizophrenia for the first time in the last few months, became my favorite from the five first albums, songwriting is great on this one in my opinion, got used to the production of it and now I’m having a little bit of trouble listening to the new one, same thing happened with the first two re-recorded releases but the other way around, I can’t listen to the original bestial and morbid. On Inquisition, that chugging riff at the breakdown has been altered and it doesn’t hit the same, on the opening track the drum pattern after the bridge has been a little simplified and it misses a lot of snare hits in there wich makes it sounds weaker in my eyes. And the new version of The Abyss is cool but weaker than the original. (I’m being very nit picky I know lol) Still need to give credit where it’s due, this re-recording fixed the original record’s issues and it’s great, Screams behind the shadows sounds amazing here, and that new song slaps too. I totally agree with you tho it’s a great improvement and I’m hooked. Btw I’ll add a little suggestion of a band to check out, called Hearse, Swedish melodeath with Johan Liiva on vocals (You’re not the biggest fan if I remember), I don’t see anybody talking about that band but I think they’re pretty good in my opinion.

I just don’t fuck with the exaggerated amount of reverb they added to the vocals on this rerecording. It fits on Morbid Visions, but here it just detracts from Max’s performance IMO.
