Excellent presentation. Thank you! I called a locksmith and he said he would have to come look at the lock to give a quote. Another one quoted $200+ to rekey onsite ($90 if I took the lock to his shop).

No the entire cylinder has to be replaced not just the core. But when you say Key types you mean...?

I would call a locksmith, cylinders are "secured" that way. Need the working key to make any changes to the cylinder

Just rekeyed a Schlage DoorKnob using the small kit and everything went well; unfortunately, the knob now locks in the opposite direction (turning away from jam) as the deadbolt. I must have done something wrong and I can’t figure it out. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

The direction of the bar that goes into your locking knob probably needs to be rotated 90 degrees is my first guess

Take off knob and turn 180 degrees and put back on

Good video but just do yourself a favor and just buy kwikset knobs because rekeying takes 10 seconds with 1 small tool that literally comes with the knob.

Heard someone refer to kwikset as kwikpik. Don't know any details but it has stuck with me... hmm funny how gossip works...
