If you’re using a Kerdi shower pan I’d recommend putting it on before the channel body. The metal part of it is wider than the opening in the shower pan. Great videos though, overall made the installation a breeze!

What if you are installing Ditra heat and kerdi-line on slab with no plumbing access? And I’m using dry pack mortar for my shower base. Would I position the drain 1/4” higher than the top of the dry pack mortar? Or since I have a tileable grate, should I just thinset a strip of Ditra on the drain grate? Thank you

3:23 Is using Kerdi-fix to adhere the drain housing to the foam still an approved method?

It sure is!

I assume your All Set product can be used for the drain as you state it has to be unmodified thin set but All Set is modified.

Hi Hopkins Home! Yes, you can use ALL-SET or any of our thin-sets or an unmodified thin-set to install the KERDI-DRAIN. 🙂🍊

why is the rubber coupling used instead of a hard fit with straight pipe cut to suit?
@schlutersystems12 жыл бұрын
Hi Chris, the KERDI-LINE is stainless steel and most pipes they connect to are PVC or ABS, so the coupler is needed to bridge between the two different materials. Thanks!

Where is he getting that little extra bit of pipe
@schlutersystems1 Жыл бұрын
Hi Shane! That piece of pipe is the same as the plumbing below, so you would just measure and cut a piece from what you have for the rest of the project or purchase. Hope that helps!

No way he doesn’t get thinset all over his wrist / forearm when he puts the primer / cement on the trap below the subfloor.

What happens if I have a 2" sewer drain already cut flush with the subfloor?

is it in concrete?

My plumber always glues the pipe into the p trap which he shouldn’t, I usually have to cut the floor open than cut the pipe lower and put a coupling on lower down. The it has to be glued afterwards like in this video.

Use a cutting wheel drill attachment then glue a coupling and add an extention to appropriate size
