I like that (for the most part) families can watch this so I’m hoping whatever happens they keep the content pg-13 still. I think at least one more season with their child would be amazing. Especially if we got a nod to a certain musical (it might not be 80s or 90s so I’m not saying it here) where the child is tricked by the baddie and separated from their parents. So they ALL have to learn something. Then if we got so lucky as to have a season 4 maybe it would be their story. Like the teen that runs away from home or something. Idk. But whatever it is Cinco will make it amazing.

"Happy Beginning" is totally "Everybody's Got the Right" from Assassins. It has the same swing to it and it features an idea that Sondheim stated or implied in a lot of his shows: happy endings don't exist, and knowing that is kind of empowering. On the other hand, Sondheim would never willingly accent the word "of" in "There's little chance *OF* success."

You two are so cute and fun. I was waiting to hear your feelings on this episode. I agree with both of you: the story felt wrapped up yet I can still see creative ways for it to continue. I definitely wouldn't mind the torch being passed to someone else down the line, like their kid...but I do want at least one more season with Mel and Josh. I love them and their arcs. I guess we'll see! Jeff would be a great narrator and Emily would be a great Mel or Bobby...which is pretty consistent because last season she said she'd be Mel or Blerky! Anymore content y'all want to do on Schmigadoon down the line I'll be there for. Seeing others love this show as much as I do is wonderful.

I loved following along with these! Also, if Topher can continually be referred to as a young man while being played by Aaron Tveit at 39, I don't see why Jeff can't be Topher! And, while I love having the soundtrack available, I'm bummed the final reprise of Kaput didn't make the cut.

I personally don't like those types of ending, in all of portal fantasies, or isekai, that the hero(es) must go back to the real world. I think Seanan McGuire had it right in her song, Wicked Girls Saving Ourselves, that all the "lost girls" (classic fantasy heroines from Alice to Susan Pevensie) never once asked to return to their lives "to be children and chattel, and mothers and wives" Why return to the mundane when you could live a life fantastic? I would have chose the Persephone option; coming and going between worlds, echoing the changing seasons.

I'm not sure if you *actually* liked "Over and Done" but, my GOD, that song has been on full rotational whirlwind repeat since the episode dropped. Like so many others in comments I've seen on social media, I actually stopped the episode and rewound it several times to watch it before proceeding with the finale. DeBose is electrifying! It's glorious and sonic perfection.

My idea for season 3 is for three new characters. Alice a 26 year old who love to sing but has less confidences unlike her 20 year old, Peter, a rock and roller who doesn’t think musical isn’t real music. Both are orphans and still in grief. Alice meets an male nurse in training name Oliver who invites her to a festival. Before the couple reached it Peter finds them and the siblings argue. Soon the three find themselves in a musical adventure
