One of my favorite television proposals of all time. I love that it is spontaneous and unplanned but not, as Schmidt says, crazy or impulse. Because he’s known for SO LONG. I love his desperate insistence that she stop him if he’s hurting her or ruining their friendship by declaring his love for her; I love the seriousness and the tenderness in his face and voice when he says “do you remember this?” I love the whole callback; I love the way Cece says yes, so overjoyed and almost impatient and HAPPY. (I also love the fact that this happens when she’s in regular clothes still dirty from her climb down the mountain!) And I love the little beat he takes after she says yes, like he wants to make sure it’s all real. I know this is a lot of words but I would die for this scene.
