Train Simulator | GOOD HIGH HOOD | NS/SOU/NW -- SD40-2 pack |

The recent release of the A&S (Saluda) for Train Simulator brought us a fairly decent map - but not so much anything fairly decent to run on said map.
Fear not, better options have arrived - the SD40-2 High Hoods in multiple variations for Norfolk Southern, Norfolk & Western and Southern Railway complete with newly modeled bits, new (incredible) horn sounds from the RS5T/P5 and more from 'Switch Point Simulations'

I'm a retired engineer and have been on all kinds of engines. I don't know just how realistic you want to get with these videos. Southern SD40-2's let long hood forward, so the "F" should be on the long hood end frame. Southern engines control stands sat along side the engineer, not at an angle like it's shown here, that's what all other railroads did. The N&W engines had 2 control stands which sat like the ones shown here. Other than that, these are well done. You really got the EMD sound perfect.

The issue is this mod is built on an ex-Conrail unit from another developer. Theres so much a modder can do without just throwing in the towel and making an all new model. These arent 100%, as i mentioned- but theyre far better than the bottom of the barrel scraping that came with the A&S add on

OMG Awesome SD40-2 HSH Searchlight needs to rerelease there SD40-2 pack now, Horns are great sounding Honestly one of my all time Favorite units the High Hood SD40-2, Great video

Hm, interesting video but I missed some information on the physics of these locos, especially compared to the locos coming with the Saluda Grade. Even so I have the impression that it's not that difficult to put a better loco on the railworks tracks than DTM...
