I also speak German and Italian (learned from grandparents). But being taught something at school doesn't necessarily mean that students take it in. I think a few important pieces were missed. The Emperor was able to land his space craft without a single detection from the mechanicus, something they thought was literally impossible. The first thing the Emperor did was "touch" one of the old but very important machines (I can't recall which, i think it was a titan) and the machine just sprung to life, looking as new as the day it was created, and this machine was on it's last legs. Those are two very important reasons why they saw him as the omnissiah.

Point of clarification about nomenclature: Pre schism, the Cult Mechanicus was the religion of Mars, and the Mechanicum (the "people" of Mars). Post/during schism, Mars split in to the Dark Mechanicum and the Adeptus Mechanicus. It can be confusing because "mechanicus" is used both pre, and post schism

I've posted this in previous Mechanicum lore videos on KZbin, but those that haven't read just HOW GODLY Emperor comes across to Mechanicum comes...Bro legit comes to them like the second coming of Christ; the following is a tech-priests and others reaction to the arrival of the Omnissiah; as it gives us an insight into why the Mechanicum saw the Emperor as their God, a divine being: “A silhouette moved within the light, tall and powerful, glorious and magnificent. The light seemed to move with him and as Verticorda watched the figure descend the ramp, a shadow fell across the surface of the plain on which the craft had landed. Though he was loath to tear his gaze from the magnificent figure…light from the storm-wracked skies faded until the only illumination came from the figure as he stepped onto Martian soil for the first time. Verticorda felt the collective gasp from the thousands of spectators in his bones, as though the very planet shuddered with pleasure to know this individual’s touch. He looked back down and saw the warrior standing before him, tall and clad in golden armour, each plate wrought with the same skill and love as had been lavished upon his vessel. The warrior wore no helm and was fitted with no visible breathing augmetics, yet seemed untroubled by the chemical-laden air of Mars. Verticorda found his gaze dwelling on the warrior’s face, beautiful and perfect as though able to see beyond the armoured exterior of Ares Lictor and into Verticorda’s soul. In his eyes, his so very ancient eyes, Verticorda saw the wisdom of all the ages and the burden of all the knowledge contained within them. A crimson mantle flapped in the wind behind the giant warrior and he carried an eagle-topped sceptre clutched in one mighty gauntlet. The golden giant’s eyes scrutinised the blue-armoured form of Verticorda’s mount, from its conical glacis to the aventailed shoulder plates upon which the wheel and lightning bolt symbol of the Knights of Taranis was emblazoned. The warrior reached out towards him. ‘Your machine is damaged, Taymon Verticorda,’ he said, his voice heavy and yet musical, like the most perfect sound imaginable. ‘May I?’ Verticorda found himself unable to form a reply, knowing that anything he might say would be trite in the face of such perfection. It didn’t occur to him to wonder how the sublime warrior knew his name. Without waiting for a reply, the warrior reached out, and Verticorda felt his touch upon the joints of Ares Lictor’s knee. ‘Machine, heal thyself,’ said the warrior, the purpose and self-belief in his voice passing into Verticorda as though infusing every molecule of his hybrid existence of flesh and steel with new-found purpose and vitality. He felt the warmth of the warrior’s touch through the shell of his mount, and gasped as trembling vibrations spread through its armoured frame of plasteel and ceramite. He took an involuntary step back, feeling the movements of his mount flow as smoothly as ever they had. With one step, he could feel Ares Lictor move as though it had just come off the assembly lines, its stubborn knee joint flexing like new. ‘Who are you?’ he gasped, his voice sounding grating and pathetic next to the mighty timbre of the golden warrior’s voice. ‘I am the Emperor,’ said the warrior. It was a simple answer, yet the weight of history and the potential of a glorious future were carried in every syllable. Knowing he would never again hear words spoken with such meaning, Verticorda and Ares Lictor dropped to one knee, performing the manoeuvre with a grace that would have been impossible before the Emperor’s touch. In that moment, Taymon Verticorda knew the truth of the being standing before him. ‘Welcome to Mars, my lord,’ he said. ‘All praise to the Omnissiah.’” So there you have it. I can only apologise for the many paragraphs, but it gives you an idea at how GODLY the Big E appears to the people of Mars.

Some of those 10 v 10 battles took days to play out but it was the highlight of the year, pulling out all the stops and the special secret moves and tactics and weapons, watching a toothless, bearded dirty hobo man beat 3 or 4 engineers who were rich and had everything money could buy, by just being smarter, more tatical, and way more ruthless and though out was one of my favorites ( and yes the hobo had real figures ( not a whole lot, but maybe 2k or 3k worth he built up and put together himself over the years, he carried them in a duffel bag he kept on him all the time, or the shop would let him sleep in the basement when it was cold and store stuff at the store, he was like a stray dog the shop adopted

Hey some quick corrections; The Emperor did not have to predict the Martians would see him as Omnissiah, but he fulfilled every aspect of the ‘Prophecy of the Omnissiah’ which you can find in the book ‘Mechanicum’ The Mechanicum would not enter as an Imperial Adepta (and thus surrender its sovereignty) until the Binharic Succession, which you can read about in the book of the same name, which took place just before the Siege. As the Mechanicum, the admech was an allied state, as the Adeptus Mechanicus, they are a vassal state subject to the governance of Terra but partially independent by provenance of the a treaty of mars.

let me know what you guys think about a short story im writing. 50kilometer cubes appear nominally across the globe above sources of fresh water absorbing the sources of water until they were seemingly full then they moved near major city centers around the world. Any human that touched the cube was given set of three very simple puzzles. match the shapes, 43 + 7 = , ect to verify sentience, a black within black gate opens and allows only the puzzle solver to enter. When they enter, they from humanities best efforts to measure do not add mass to the cubes, its believed they are gateways, to where? after hundreds of years of humanity growing and building around the cubes, entire religions have sprung up centered around the mysterious vessels. they have never moved or given off any form of measurable data other than its density lining up with the cube being 50 kilometers across, 1 kilometer thick on each wall, and after millions of dying, adventurers and the desperate have entered no change in mass has occurred. after a thousand years of drilling a cube in one 3 meter shaft has made a total progress of 3 meters, in a thousand years using ever increasing levels of technology. its believed it will take abother 45,000 years at the current rate of progress to reach the inner cube. after 39,000 years a break thru in quantum misplacement sped the drilling to a lightspeed pace and the cube was punctured. the vessel drained 50 kilometer cubed water and remained hovering in its original placement, when entered it was found to be completely hollow. completely smooth walls and no signs of the driving technology behind its purpose. a vibration was felt to any physically touching the now emptied cube, a warning and all those inside exited, the kilometer long shaft filled itself in with identical black steel like material, found a source of water, and moved to a different population center that has grown since their original arrival and settlement. the mystery will involve the scientist, the govts of the world holding secrets and the chase to explore a cube that for the first time ever is beginning to act... strangely :) lmk wut u think !
