Excellent display of robotic engineering. I have seen many ornithopters, most look like birds, but I thought the wings actually make them look more like bats. This is a good idea. Now all that needs is some natural or realistic color. Very real looking! I also think other animals of the same type would cause a problem. Someone suggested some type of siren, like a dog whistle.

well i agree, but as Technology evolves, normal people wont be able to notice in the future if its real or not. Especially when AI fully kicks in, lets wait 5-6 years more and you will see :).

Humanity and its creations are an extension of nature, are beaver dams not natural just because they had to put work into making them.
@spacevspitch402810 ай бұрын
@1810jeff Yeah, I'll never understand people acting like human ingenuity doesn't come from the same place as animal ingenuity. Your Beaver dam example is a good one. Bird nests, hornet nests, even dung beetles rolling balls of dookie. The human intellect is a survival adaptation like anything else and entirely born out of nature. Even our mal-adaptations (the worst of our "criminal" behaviors and abuses of ourselves and those around us) are adaptations nonetheless and just more of nature's blind "experiments".

Can anyone tell me what the secondary cam mechanism linked to the two cogs is doing I can see that it is pulling a line but what is the line doing. is it pulling the wing in on the upstroke or is it inducing some sort of twist or maybe both?
@diederekhill82772 жыл бұрын
If I had to guess, the line is entirely controlling the wings, both up and down stroke
