@Heather Hartman you should check out Slappyworld # 7 when you get a chance. It's a really good book that kind of takes elements from Stine's older books: "Stay Out of the Basement," and "Piano Lessons Can Be Murder." It's called "It's Alive! It's Alive!"

Yea that’s why I like his style and books too, they’re just really relaxing and escapist haha. We do need reads like this. And they’re not filled with a lot of filler. They just move and they’re right to the point.

i read the babysitter series as a young teen and now i'm a mom of 6 and i've told all my girls to read them when they were in middle school lol All of my girls went through the Goosebumps movies but not sure if they read the books yet. What a great author, that keeps his readers on the edge of their seat.

Dear R.L. Stine, I know you have written many, many Goosebumps books, and you can have trouble remembering book titles. The book you said you had to re-write 3 times was actually "Cry of the Cat". I personally love this one, so always remember to keep revising your ideas even if you are tired of the story plots.

As great as the intentions of teachers throughout the world may be, i really believe that some kids are born writers. There are so many stats that correlate reading and writing levels to future success, and even more state funding determined by high english test scores, that the pressure for teachers to build interest within kids to read and write is stressful; though the reality is, like Stine infered, it is the passion that finds the child. Though writing is something you can teach, like explaining to a child how to formulate an argument or paragraph - the actual intrinsic value that some kids get when writing, cannnot be taught. And yet, teachers are given this impossible task to impose this interest in writing that some kids naturally have. I think teachers with enough years of experience intuitively understand this when they finally come in contact with those students who write in their own time, in their own notebooks, or find such students who are so naturally gifted at story telling that they are compelled to support and reinforce such student's gift. As one of those kids, I speak from experience. Today, I am a poet and journalist, in part because a teacher of mine took the time to let me know that my inclination to write was in fact, a gift.

I just read Ghost of Slappy, not that impressed, it was dark and a bit sad even for a book for older kids. However, I love all your other stories. I was thinking Slappy is in so many books, in each of his series, he has a new victim. It is too bad you cannot bind them all together to take him out. So much possibilities there.

Say Cheese and Die Again, Monster Blood II, III, and IV, the Haunted Mask 2, those books have recurring characters, but there are so many books featuring Slappy as the villain tormenting a new kid trying to make him or her his slave. I think it would be a great idea if all the kids come together to take him out. I already have written out a story idea.
