The "rivet" at the bottom of Andy's pile is not a rivet. It is a brass piece of hardware from a Civil War sabre belt rig. Unlike the pack rivets, the sabre belt pieces were one piece cast brass (not two piece). Great finds, yall!

The copper alloy oval artefact with the glass in the front at 20.40 is the top part of a Georgian intaglio seal matrix. Generally when found you can see on the back either 4,6 or 8 broken location points where the main body fixed to the top. The main body had a loop on it for suspension and also the main body was held when the front face of the seal was impressed into wax to seal a letter. Being Georgian it ties in with the cuff link and school. Hope this helps.

Bigger shovels, and make them holes about twice that size. The bigger the hole, The bigger the coins. What you guys could do is have a contest on who could pinpoint the best. Bury a quarter 8 inch's deep, take a long screw driver and see if you can probe it. Another way could be each person pinpoints it, marks "Their spot" with a golf tee, then see who got closer. Not even to mention a bad pinpoint makes for a damaged Barber Half.
