Just can across the channel.Reckon this is one mega build, the whole concept is amazing. Do consider maybe making punched louvers on the engine cover or some sort of Air ducting to the airfilter housing for better cold air on that high flow air filter.

@JustinPaul1st i left the bottom of the box open, so there was a ton of air transfer from underneath. I had planned to add vents to the top, but it seemed to be staying very cool without them. Thanks for watching!

You did a huge and very good job that looks the part of a antique truck. I assume that you sell them so to do another. I feel like my idea of doing one since you go this far is to completely gut anything that would interfere with setting it over the actual engine. I understand turbo routing and other stuff, as I worked as a heavy equipment mechanic/fabricator and builder of junk rigs up from the ground myself many years ago. I am seventy five or would still do this type of stuff as it can be a lot of fun and rewards are in the eyes of the beholder..... nice building

@RaysGarage-dl4bq I sold the parts a few weeks after I took it apart. The bed pieces were all welded to each other, to the frame, tp everything really, as it was mostly home made. I didn't want to store the entire chassis.

@@Blowinshiddup Since I made them from 14 gauge, they were pretty solid, but I did end up using sound deadening in the cab floor and firewall. I didn't own a bead roller at the time! Thanks for watching!

Hey just an idea but since the front is open could you potentially make it into tool and tie down storage ? Each side of the hood hinges up right ? Would be pretty good use of the space

I ended up putting the bus radiator up front at a 40 degree angle to fit under the hood. The radiator is huge. After adding the Gigantic electric fan, there wasn't much room up top of the radiator. Underneath we planned to put the air tank and compressor for the suspension.

Awesome build. Just wondering; did you think of lowering the arches so the gap would be less dramatic. 3 to 4 inches. Maybe half the width of the bumper (where it's doubled) and just ad a innfill plate over the arches. 😅

@SixPackDan Two reasons really. I always wanted to build a mid engine truck, and because it was too massive of an engine combo to fit under that little dodge cab without being a nightmare to work on. Thanks for watching!

@1320freek I built this truck a couple years ago and the computer i had all of the footage on went wacko on me. I ended up with only half of the video footage unfortunately. I spent a lot of time recording!! I've got a much better computer system, back up drives and better cameras now. Hopefully we won't have issues in the future and I can bring you some good videos! @1320freek I built this in the evenings and spare time. I think I probably had a month of actual labor in it if we said start to finish based on hours. I'm not exactly sure to be honest, but it was a lot of work!

@@douggrove762 It would have been easier, but i really wanted to try something different. The benefit of being able to easily work on it (mid engine) and the lack of engine heat in the cab was certainly an upside.

That truly seems stupid to me with all that hood you put the engine in a box on the back totally dumb. I've heard of hauling ass before but never hauling engine. Don't think I'll be watching any more from here.
