We had to be home when the street lights came on. We were also the lucky kids because we lived on a corner in the middle of the neighborhood. All the other kids met at our house and we would sit on the porch or out back on the patio until 2200-2300 when school was out. The funny thing was each family had their own call for their kids. My dad had an old Model T "Ooogah" horn he used. The guy across the street had a mean whistle he did. Another family used an old-time school bell and yet another had the big triangle thing you see in cowboy movies. Good memories!

Bruuuuh, about that school nonsense. I got 20k in debt for school and the education did nothing. It was for New Digital Media Production, so like, video game creation, music, hard/software, audio/visual editing, all that jazz. Employers said they care about your demo reel, so you can be a high school drop out, pirate the software to learn it and stand a better chance at getting those jobs. I had to start paying the loan back so I started looking for low pay jobs like McDonalds, but they wouldn't hire me because of the college education I was over-qualified. Why pay to hire a guy and train him if he's just gonna look for a job in his own field? So I took the education off my resume which created a 3 year gap, which made employers think I was lazy and didn't work for 3 years making interviews really awkward. Eventually I was hired by a McDonalds and they recognized my worth pretty fast and I got promoted very quickly...but I mean, still paying off 20k debt with a minimum wage job I could have had before college. Now I work at a walmart as a basic level employee making more than I was as a McDonalds manager >< what a fuckin world....I'm from Ontario...school is broken here.

Generation Zero is a 4 player co-op Survival game that is very simplistic in the way that all you need to worry about is hp and ammo, but there are many different weapons. It’s based in Sweden in the 80s, where you and friends come back from a hunting trip and when you make it to the mainland, everyone is gone, and there are hostile robots everywhere, ranging from dogs, to two-legged tanks. Also, every container has different loot for everyone, so if Thicc looks everything, the others can still get loot, but be aware that the loot is not all the same. So say Neebs gets a scope, it doesn’t mean everyone would get a scope.

They could outsource scenes to the fanbase that does some of the animation shorts. Just break up some of the scenes across the fans, edit the results with some in house simple dialogue animations and showcase the whole thing as a community collab effort. Shoot for like a 45min-1hr animated abridged retelling of a true D&D adventure you all did on a weekend or something. Doraleous is the DM. He's the only one that'll keep it on track and be honest enough (whilst remaining devious enough) for the position. Thick would lose his shit. Apprso would just tablewipe everyone for stupid shenanigans. Simon... Simon.......he....i love ya buddy. But Simon has no business on the DM side of things. Neebs would just abuse the position whenever someone interrupted his scripted exposition and scene setting and.... Hmmm. I used to work for an ad agency that had the O'Reilly's account back in the 90's. My favorite Ark moment it was on official I had decided to tame a brontosaurus I did some scouting found one that was a 150 didn't have the stuff on me decided to go back to base get everything I needed and come back. I see his tail coming out of the trees and I'm thinking this is perfect I can just have him chase me down the beach while hitting him with tranq darts. Little did I know that tail did not belong to a brontosaurus it belonged to the Giga that killed the Brontosaurus. It chased me all the way back to my boat ate my boat and me inside with my dire wolf. Needless to say I decided to take a break from Ark.

Neebs, there are somewhat smart stop lights. I'm a civil engineering major so I know a bit about this stuff. Most of the stoplights I know about have sensors in the road to alert the stoplights that there is a vehicle approaching or that there is one waiting. Smart stoplights exist but not to the degree of efficiency which you want. It also come down to money. If the governing body in charge of the roadway doesn't want to spend the money, it won't happen. Also can people stop ripping on construction workers for the quality of roads, when it's all said and done, it comes down to the politicians and the money available. The engineers can only do as much as the budget allows. Hope you see this comment and learn something new from it. P.S. there are also some traffic lights that start flashing red at a certain time at night which means that they should be treated like stop signs. This is a solution that some cities have implemented.

If we start spending 50 million dollars on a statewide smart traffic lights implementation but the potholes are as big as the moon. Many cities in asia adopt a go when clear rule for turnings on intersections. Either via a flashing yellow light, or just on the drivers digression. But not for going straight across

@@weeksweeks9552 It is pretty much the same here in Maryland. We have right turn lanes at most lights. Some have lights for those lanes, some don't. Mostly it is stop, check for on-coming traffic then proceed but you always get those guys that seem to think right turn means whenever they want to whether traffic is against them or not. The hardest thing for me to get used to after moving here was U-turns. In Ohio, U-turns were not allowed, you would get a ticket if seen. Here U-turns are everywhere, they even have signs showing when they are possible.

Does cold weather really affect the durability of a newly built road? It feels like my entire town has bad potholes everywhere and there is non stop construction year round. A road that was redone last summer is already rough and has noticeable gaps when i drive over it.

@@billyjeanvogul7770 what happens during cold weather is that water that infiltrates the pavement freezes. Water that freezes expands and cracks the road. These cracks allow for more water to infiltrate the road's surface and freeze, causing more expansion. This becomes a cycle which results in the formation of potholes and broken roadways. Once a pothole is formed, it is very difficult to keep it fixed. Filled potholes aren't perfectly sealed sometimes which allows for water infiltration to continue. This is a continuous, neverending and expensive cycle.

Statistics come from somewhere. Where I live they added a barricade that adds 5 minutes of driving a a loop to get to the main entrance to a freeway after making it a detour for the lightrail train above, this road being a one way. Police will now sit there and cars line up to get ticketed, and it took maybe 3 years for people to learn not to use the old path which was never blocked off correctly saying permanent closure but got away with only reducing the tickets everyone complained about by up to 50%.

Smart street lights are a thing that exist already, but they are hard to do. Last semester in my transportation engineering class we went to the FDOT engineering department in Fort Myers and they have it working but there are a lot of things that can mess up the timing for the lights. The lights are done so that after you go from one green light the next one will be at the same point in tis cycle. But if a pedestrian uses a cross walk the timing for that light can be thrown off for hours.

My first car was a 1981 Chevrolet Chevette. When it was new it was red but by the time I got it in 2001 it was orange. It was a tiny 4 door hatchback and I am 6 foot 8 inches. If you google a picture of the car and imagine someone 6 foot 8 getting in you might get a good laugh out of it.

Where I live on the central coast of California, most intersections with street lights have SENSORS in the roads to know when vehicles are there so the lights change appropriately. It's so nice to not have to sit at a red light when nobody is around. Back in Dayton,OH where I'm from, that shit doesnt exist.

Still, it's not my fault, because (and not that this is a bad thing), for a Marine especially, Doraleous is about the gayest straight guy I've ever heard in my life. I'm sure the ability to be an asshole is about a core requirement, but not everyone is unable to shut that off (Marine or not). Dude, Doraleous' first car was a 1980 Aspen?! I didn't think anyone even knew what that was! That was my first car! It was an old cop car, 318 v8, upgraded performance everything! Not so much for comfort, but I LOVED that car! It was this hideous, dull, gray-blue color. My great grandfather picked it up at auction for $50, turned around and sold it to me for $200. Ahhh familiy. If I knew then what I know now, I'd still have that car. I miss it. Ages ago, man, memory lane.

Smart stop lights do exist Neebs! The lights by my house turn green as soon as you stop at them (as long as there is no vehicle on coming). I live by a military base so that may be why they are better than other traffic lights.

I have been working over the past 6 months to get in shape, and partly because of you I've lost 83 pounds (yes, really) and for the first time since high school, I am no longer fat.
