@@Dulcecone That's where the problem lies, when a person is genuinely trying to praise or make realise what girls feel when guys stand up against sexism, we will definitely have someone who acts like they know everything. Miss this world has been patriarchal for so long that many men still don't know the difference. So what's she is saying fine & one or two voices supporting men for doing good won't disbalance the Earth. And your talk about respect can be vice-versa too , so let's don't get angry or upset about this. There is still many problems/roadblocks for women which we need to overcome & let's not get upset about someone praising a men for standing up against sexism. Also I don't know if you know that a small postive attitude can bring in huge changes! No hard feelings! Cheers!!👍

We had a case a few months ago in Sydney Austrslia of a high school making all the boys apologize for potential assaults against women. The boys didn't want to do it but had to, even though they did nothing wrong. Basically they were forced to apologize for being born a male. It was so ridiculous, theirs parents chucked a huge fit and the school apologized. They were trying to teach gender equality and that violence against women is wrong, but obviously it backfired. I don't know why the school principal ever thought that was a good idea.

A STORY I REMEMBER NOW, WHICH IS NOT THAT RELATED :Once I remember our school asked all of us students (not gender based) to take one medicine of Anthelmintics. They gave us like a huge amount and asked us to consume one after lunch break. They didn't ask if we are suffering or if anyone has that helminths in our body! I was surprised to see many of my classmates consumed it without any second thoughts but I went home and told my parents about this! They immediately consulted a doctor and he told me there's no need to consume one unless you have heminths! Cause these medicines do have side effects ! But again surprisingly, the next day, or weeks or months, no one was infected anything or fell sick! Some do had side effects, but it wasn't major. Soon afterwards, School told ''it wasn't that necessary to consume one, if you had, then it's like prevention, if someone haven't had yet, it's also okay.'' I guess many parent's might have reported this to school, as my parent's too informed!

@@namsrkive i saw that too. But i think its not in the same way portrayed though. The purity candy makes no sense. It was dramatized. And in Korea it won't be this obvious, because they don't have a high teen pregnancy epidemic. Well I hope they won't stoop that low. But I do know some places are quite sexist in their dealings. It could defenatly be true elsewhere.

Ngl, I agree with the fact that you shouldn't have sex until you are an adult. You can have partners, make out and whatever, but not sex. Once you are an adult, you can do whatever you want. (It's just my opinion pls don't hate). But forcing high-schoolers to pledge to not do it until you are married, forcing just girls to take the candy, that's stupid, discriminative, invasive, and unrealistic.

@@ivnaj I mean it just depends, I’d say it still is pretty common but some schools do try to brainwash/ shame teens into thinking that sex outside of wedlock is ‘wrong’ and especially for girls shameful. But I’d say a lot of media here portrays it as normal so it’s just really a mixed experience. I would say that these pledges are most common in conservative states and Christian schools where usually more urban cities teach actual sexual education, but again I’m just speaking as the majority as I’m sure there are exceptions. It's interesting to see kdramas addressing these pressures that young people face. The girls are being told to remain virgins, however it is taken as a given that the boys won't keep their virginity. That is pressure on both sexes and totally unfair on everyone. It's great to see dramas highlighting these situations and making us think about them instead of just accepting them.

When I was a 7th grader teacher made an announcement for 7th to 10th graders to gather at the football ground. The teacher took a unwrapped candy in her hand then girl and boys were divided into two sections to stand. She called me and a boy from 9th grade. We were both the class presidents. She asked the boy to eat the candy. The boy was confused and asked why to eat an unwrapped candy. The teacher turned to me and looked at the section of girls standing. She said your value is just like this candy once you loose your purity. No one wants you. The boy took a stand and asked that why is she only refering to girsl. So the teacher said he is disrespecting her and will be punished and was expelled. Like taking a stand for someone is rewarded by punishment.

I think this is a real valid critiquing of our society. The double standard there is of how girls/women are expected to be chaste and pure but not holding boys/men to that same standard. And I think what's glaring is how everyone laughed at that one boy who said he wanted to be chaste to. In most societies women are placed on a pedestal for being "pure" or "untainted" while men are seen as "losers". While on the flip side women are slut shamed for being sexually active while it's expected of men even placed on pedestal for it. It's actually funny considering the fact that sex in those same societies its largely excepted that sex is btn a man and a woman. For those with different sexually orientation the situation is even worse
