ilovealexanderrybak I know many, man y ppl. haven't had the chance to learn other languages or get inmersed in foreign cultures, i'm referring to those they have the chance and don't do it (specially some english speakers) expecting that everybody speaks their language. Besides if they have internet access to watch youtube.. they have access to zillions of sources in different languages. the cool things of da internet is you can learn different topics, different languages, and cultures..

you right... i'm too busy to follow these silly and nonsense arguments... i have many things to do 2day.. so i let all the other busy ppl to figure out what the video says. If they don't have the time to learn other languages.. don't complain when interesting material is in a language other than theirs. (when you want to talk about a busy lifestyle i'll give you my weekly schedule)
@ilovealexanderrybak15 жыл бұрын
well maybe some people just have not thought about it and have busy lifestyles so therefore cannot learn another language.

in english or the person's second language can't be understood. So yeah, some people request for english subtitles/german subtitles/whatever subtitles, not because they aren't trying to learn a second language, but because the second language is not that of the video. I really hope that made any sense. I kind started ranting. Makes me mad when people "generalize" Americans/English speakers as un-willing to learn. Cause that's not really true in many cases.
@narniaprincess0515 жыл бұрын
maybe we do expect others to translate it into english because not everyone who learns a second language learns spanish or french. I could understand some of the video but only because I've taken spanish for five years.

3:49, isn´t she Mathilde Froustey? She looks very young there. In part 2, she said that she was 16 years old, so I guess that this was filmed in the 90´s right?

Filmed in 2002. Yes it's Mathilde Froustey, and Laura Hecquet (in classroom)

no, i didn't say that I expected people to translate everything for us. Like I said, I could figure out about half of what the video was saying because I've taken spanish. I'm cool with videos being in other languages. I was replying to the person's comment that ALL english speakers expect the world to translate everything for them. I was merely stating that some English speakers do learn another language, it just happens to not be french of spanish. So, videos that aren't

@Beccka15 жыл бұрын
I'd say the original commentator was being judgmental, since she/he was unhappy with it not being in English. Just because you don't know the language doesn't mean that people have to cater to your ignorance.

ugh jesus its in spanish

How else was it supposed to come across? Someone took the time to upload a documentary, for free, and you're demanding that someone else translate it for you because you don't speak that language. That's entitlement and it's obnoxious. Plus, you apparently have problems with English as well. Did you want it translated into chat speak?
@raulishnikov15 жыл бұрын
sure.. english speakers are so lazy to learn other languages well... most non english speakers understand english, and some other languages as french, spanish or italian... why do they expect when traveling to foreign countries to be spoken in english or have everything on the internet translated to their language? I luv internet cause i can watch and listen many other cultures and learn from them.
