I have been a student at the School of Weaving for five years, the last project on my loom was weaving rugs using t-shirts and core spun alpaca yarn became too thick on my front beam. I had to remove what was currently woven so I could continue weaving until the warp was gone. I knew there was an episode where Jane cut the warp to continue weaving. I opened the JST app and searched on “glueing”, it was season 3.

dear Jane, I‘ve been thinking about subscribing, but I am wondering if I would need to start at episode 1 and work my way through chronilogically? or could I weave along at the new season? thx

@@youbel100 It really depends on the level you are at as a weaver. Season 1 starts at the beginning, making a warp, dressing a loom etc. Season 2 is all about Colour and Design, Season 3 is all about all the ways we can push plain weave. Then we go on to twills, then to laces, then to units blocks and profiles….the entire school builds on each previous season. You get the first 7 days free so you could just sign up and see what it’s all about. You’ve got nothing to loose. There is a ton of content and you get it all, nothing ever goes away as long as your a member :)

Thank you for your quick response. I guess I am somewhere in the middle, attending the 1st year of a weaving class in Germany to become a certified handweaver. I guess I would have to control myself, not to jump in to high - because it seems tempting. 😍

@@youbel100 I have been weaving for 45 years and I’m still learning everyday. It never ends.

Dear Jane, so many thanks for all your creative efforts to keep us inspired. I'm a bit stupid. But I'm sure you have a good reason. My question, why don't you include crackle as part of your studies to us? I'm sure you have a good reason? And maybe you do and I don't know it? It is not a structure that I've read a lot about, but I knew a very clever creative mature weaver teacher who studied crackle intensively, but unfortunately she retired before I could. learn from her. Please can you teach us the basics? this woman was so excited about this structure and it still tickles me what made her so excited about it? I know how it looks, and I do like it. I know I confuse it sometimes with another structure. Thank you. Just curious.

Hi, Check out Season 6, Episode 6, which is an introduction to Crackle Weave, and Season 7, Episode 6, Crackle on Opposites, for a good start on learning about crackle weave.

Looking forward to this, and super happy to see that David Schultz will be doing an episode, too! David is an amazing weaver. I just want to add that the Forum is a great resource. This past year I had several issues that I needed help with and so many generous souls jumped it to help me figure things out! Thank you all! JST is a fantastic weaving school! Love you Jane, and the Dream Team! ❤❤❤
