Excellent story Steve m8 and as always well told. I've been racking my brain to think of an equivalent tale from my end , because things like this have happened to me. The most relevant to you I suppose must be an Australian story....many years ago I was working in an engineering factory outside Perth, around 1992 , and I was doing what a boilermaker must do ...when this big bearded fella came up and shouted above the noise, 'hey you from England?'...obviously we had hearing protection on and it was a very noisy environment....I thought he was an Aussie, I said 'yeh m8'.....he says whereabouts, I answer 'north east , about 60 miles south of the Scottish border'......I then start tuning into his non aussie accent, 'no m8' he says, 'whereabouts?'..... 'Teesside ' I reply......'where on Teesside?'.....says the bearded man....'xxxxxxton' I say, (obviously I'm disguising my home town name), he replies 'I'm from xxxxxton too'.....anyway after much toing and froing it turns out that we are from the same town and used to live about 500yards from each other, albeit he on one side of a major road and me on the other, different schools and he was older than me so I didn't know him.......I know there's tons of poms in Perth but I was only on this job temporarily, and he heard another pom had started so wanted a sticky beak....I wonder if he's still out there?😊😊😊😊cheers Steve m8

@@CodyandSteveDownUnder I had to throw this one across the ocean… George Lazenby, still kicking, or so, has decided to retire from acting. Something to do with turning 84…? The one-time Bond actor has obviously not kept in touch with the seemlingly immortal Chuck Norris 🤣😎

Ha ha, six degrees of separation. Ok I got one for you, I ride in the forest with some cowgurls (sic), one day they bring a crusty old horseman to join us. After a few weeks riding we talk about stuff, and he and I went to the same primary school, played in the same rugby team in 1955/6, my family moved a couple of suburbs away then. So 70 years later I now live 200 miles north of Sydney, and so does he. I should of twigged straight, because you don't heads as rough as his or mine without putting into a scrum several times.
