Seeing a bunch of comments like "kinda sad they didn't pick the belly button piercing" is so funny to me because... really? There are people who thought that was an actual option? From the moment that one was revealed, I knew it was basically just there for show. As a punishment chosen by another person, a piercing is something the "victim" would have to consent to, so even on the unlikely occasion it _was_ chosen, I'm pretty sure Ryan would've just said "No" and that would've been that.

I would imagine that AT&T were the one's to put the distance restriction in. Obviously Achievement Hunter doesn't care too much for minor injuries, but it would reflect badly for AT&T. Not to mention that the show is meant to have younger viewers anyway.

The surrender distance in paintball arenas is typically about 20ft or 6m, with the minimum distance typically being a third of that. In the video, it looked like they were at least 80ft away. It just seemed pointless to have the grand finale be a punishment that barely even qualified as uncomfortable.

I've been shot way within the minimum distance several times. It happens a lot with people who are playing for the first time. You get some pain and bruising, but nothing awful. I wouldn't want to be shot in the neck at that distance though. They really wouldn't have caused unreasonable pain or any considerable injury to Ryan by shooting at a third of the distance they did.

I don't know for certain, but I don't think distance would affect pain that much. While paintballs are not ideal projectiles, they would not have slowed down much below their maximum speed in 80 feet. The same is true for all projectiles. When pitchers throw a baseball, it will usually lose 10% of its speed by the time it hits homeplate. For example, if a ball leaves the pitcher's arm going 100mph, it will be going around 90-92 by the time it reaches 60 ft. Considering that paintballs undergo less air resistance due to their smaller surface area, there is no reason why they would drop speed significantly by 80ft.

I eat a habanero with some cream cheese as a snack now and then. It's certainly not mild, but it's not my idea of a "punishment" level of spiciness either. It wouldn't have to be a ridiculous level of misery like you would get from a Carolina Reaper or Moruga Scorpion, but at least a ghost pepper would have been a bit more entertaining.

Capsaicin doesnt stack like that. The heat/pain he feels will be from the hottest pepper, not all of them combined. And like I said, the hottest pepper in the world is vastly more than all the peppers he ate combined. For a several episode several week series, the punishments were a joke.

As a fellow 'Ryan' myself I feel that it is necessary for Ryan Haywood to host Schooled Season 3 and for a twist no matter who wins all get a punishment. The only goal is to be able to choose which punishment you want first, and the list gets smaller and smaller until finally the last punishment is given to whoever is in the last place. Oh, and both Geoff and Gavin have to play as well. hehehehehehehe

The ending could of been a lot better, when Ryan started running you could see paintballs hit the floor because they were stood soo far away, but I work with paintball guns as a job and those Cronus paintball rifles are actually an upgrade from standards and have a default pressure of 220-250 fps (feet per second), you can tell those guns were toned down because by default they would be easily hitting that distance and exploding on impact at Ryan, if they wanted to be realistic and causes the pain they'd sorta promised they could easily stood closer or you can tone up the rifles and make them hit 500-620 fps which would be a lot more interesting and entertaining and allowed for the punishment to reach its maximum potential... just saying
