Hello, everyone! I'm thrilled to be back with a new video after a few months away from the channel.
Today we look at play versus aggression in dogs and how the two can look (and sound) very similar.
In today's video, you'll meet our wonderful group of dogs:
*Alfie* - Border Terrier
*Barney* - Shih Tzu
*Charlie* - West Highland Terrier
*Juno* - Border Terrier
*Nell* - Cockapoo
*Rua* - Cockapoo
*Ruby* - Beagle
My aim is to be a positive influence on the dog community and a good role model for the industry I cover.
Working with dogs and making content is difficult - please take a moment to support.
Thank you for watching and supporting Crighton Pet Services. Don't forget to like, comment, and subscribe for more pawsome adventures!

We have the same here on our trails, suddenly full of cyclists and families to avoid. Also the field we use regularly now has cows in and despite the public right of way across the field its too scary with dogs. Your weather looks about as good as ours in the south. Good luck with your summer walking!

Thank you. More videos to come and at least for you guys you’ve a couple more weeks before the kids break up. We’re 2 down… multiple to go 🤣. The video of my own dog, Dante, will be landing soon (tonight/tomorrow). Stay tuned 💙🧡❤️

@@ynfi welcome along to my little channel. It’s a nice little community and the “thank you” comes from me for watching. Appreciate the support. Do you have a dog/dogs yourself? Did anything in today’s video stand out? Always looking for ideas on content to make next. Steven 💙🧡❤️

Hello Steven thanks for your reaction. We had a Westy for 15 years. Died pity 4 months ago. Was very easy going dog and kind. Before that a Welsh terrier. Bit spicy female in comparison to the Westy :-) Next week we are proud owners of a border terrier pup. I found the aggression part very interesting and learningfull. I watch particular Juno,Alfy and Biscuit and there behaviour, but Charly also. (so recognizable run.) In future we might want two dogs. How does it work in distractions. Is there one particular dog you call to your attention which you know is sensitive for distractions ? Rabbits ,deer? I saw you keep the attention of the dogs in an other video while slowly moving backwards from encountering some deer in the woods. Is there also a rank in the gang and do you pick him by name so the others will follow besides the whistle? Would love to know more about a gang in future video s and what you can see, or what you can tell on their language during journeys or distractions. Or maybe for particularly typical border behavior if there is such a thing. Sorry for my bad Englisch. Live in the Netherlands :-) Greetings Fifiane

@ynfi hey Fifiane, How wonderful that a puppy is coming into your lives - and a Border Terrier too. They would be in good company with my gang! Sounds like you’ve had nice dogs in your life. You’ve asked some amazing questions here and over the course of my next few videos, I might try to answer some of these in more detail - I hope you’re ok with me using your question as a topic. Sometimes it doesn’t work (if we talk about distractions and then get no distractions on our walk it sometimes doesn’t work out). But will keep an eye on their behaviour and see if one of your points matches with them - and they play nice for the camera! I’ll add, distractions are part of the 3 D’s we often talk about on our videos - the 3 D’s are: Distance Duration Distraction So when we train (literally any training exercise), if we want to improve the dog to thrive in different scenarios, we’ll introduce one of the 3 Ds. Perhaps we try to get a dog for a longer DURATION. Maybe we walk away a further DISTANCE while the dog is sitting. Or possibly we ask the dog to sit while all the other dogs are allowed to be free - hence a more difficult DISTRACTION. Whenever we have a “quiet” day we will work on these 3D’s - usually off camera. And when it counts, when it really counts, like with the deer, hopefully, training kicks in and we get a big tick ✅ in the box that day. But we also get it wrong a lot and maybe I’ll show some of the times it goes wrong too. Keep looking through the videos. I’ve got one called “Border Terrier Troubles” which actually has a Part 1 and Part 2 to it. Might give you a peek at things when they don’t go to plan. kzbin.info/www/bejne/f4POdWuXaceieJYsi=ExRiceIb9jnKRqWu Speak soon, Steven 💙🧡❤️ PS - your English is far superior to my Dutch! 🧡

Hoi Steven I have a lot catching on to do I see. Watched your link and some others older topics. Lots of inside learnings of you and the dogs. Body languages, the crows, stand still pauzes, handgestures, walking a new path and how the dogs individualy react ect You may use my questions of course but older video s answers them too. The 3d's I will build up gradually with my dog👍 Thank you. Borders are sensitive dogs I have read. Alfy regained his confidence and place in the gang , good team. The gang is so well behaved it's beautifull to watch. Like your positivity and the dogs. Better emphasise that then wrongs. I enjoy watching , so funny how each dog has his own walk and expression. And like your explanations ,real treat for doglovers ;-) fifiane❤🐾
