I carried this model for over 30 years before I retired.. I broke the clip blade a few years before retiring and still used it and kept it. it sits silently in retirement now. thanks for the video and your thoughts.

This is the kind of knife that Bigdaddy carried. I told my daughters that if a man doesn't carry a pocket knife, he is not a good choice for a mate.

Mine doesn't have the second liner but it looks like it has the pivot pin, the faint outline of a pin can be seen in the bolsters when angled in the right light. I really like the slim profile and the Turkish clip blade, one of my favourites for sure.

My USA made 61OT does not have the double liner or the pins... it looks to be regular Schrade manufacture. Very interesting that yours is different, and I agree that Camillus is the most likely maker of yours. I recently got an old timer "MM8" which I initially thought was just a private label 8OT (I think they were sold by one of the Hardware chains)-- but like your 61OT, the MM8 has pins and a double liner one one side. Otherwise it is really similar to the 8OT, but the blades on the MM8 are also slightly heavier than on any of the 8OT models that I have, and the sheep's foot is not tweaked as in the regular 8OT-- it is actually my current favorite knife.

@@jonathanquine4883 I have read that there are some interesting varieties out there from the time they were going out of business.

Just picked up a jigged delrin SW Craftsman 861 for $25. I was a bit surprised that I could get an older schrade walden version for less then a newer OT version in practically unused but definitely carried condition.

I have a 61ot, 4" with no double spacer and no visible signs of pins.

I have an almost identical Schrade, except smaller, the 98 OT and have always wondered if it was made by Camillus

I also have the 98ot and it's a 3 9/16 knife as per Schrade specs . What I just noticed tonight is that this 61ot was called the premium slim stock . But yet the Uncle Henry 897uh was called the signature premium slim stock and it was 3 9/16 . So I always thought that the 98ot was the Old Timer version of it and believe it really is if you go by the size of the knife being 3 9/16 . Also I believe the Shrade open stock 895 and the 896k are on the same frame as the 98ot and those are both referred to as slim premium stock knives also . Now the 61ot throws wrenches into the gears of what the slim premium stock was because it should be on the frame that yields a 3 9/16 knife and not a 4" knife . And all having the typical Turkish clip primary as you'd see in rounded bolster Stockmans . So this 61ot as well as the 858ot "Lumberjack" seem to be extra long versions of the stockman pattern that are exclusive to the Old Timer line and were never produced under the Uncle Henry or open stock Schrade lines . And why would Schrade call a 4" knife a premium slim while all the other premiums slims were 3 9/16 " ? Or is one a "premium slim" and the other a "slim premium" ? But then again , we are talkin' about Schrade here .

For the most part I think the Schrades have better snap than the more expensive Case knives. (still love the Case knives though)

I think this one was made for Schrade by Camillus.

It's kinda strange also that they spread that tang stamp out over three lines instead of the USA and the model number being in the same line . I think you're spot on in that being made by Camillus
